Grimes smiles and says "Happy to check it out." And he dons Einar's cloak, and slowly peers toward the voices, listening intently.

Grimes finds that the door is ajar. He peers in and sees Bars Tolvik (!) talking to someone else. They aren't quite arguing although the words exchanged are loud and sharp. It appears that they are discussing ways of re-trapping the labyrinth in Skull Mountain and what places they will "hit" next as they reassert their control of the area.



Grimes is certain that they are speaking of using Skull Mountain as a base of operations like his merry band had before.

Grimes hastily makes his way back to the party and tells them what he has seen. "I don't trust em. And if they see us departin' with all this loot, they may try to take a cut. And I'm sure not sharing." He will defer to the others for the course of action.

I think it best that we put them to rest. Only a tumor to society would want to use this place as a base.

Furuk nods in agreement with Dieter.

"Let's eliminate them quickly."

Grimes whispers, "If someone wants to use Einar's cloak, I can web em' then we can pounce on em."

If that's the case, Grimes will hand off the cloak of Einar's to someone, then he'll don his cloak of arachnidia, wait a minute for the others to get in position, then he'll web the duo.

Who takes Einar's cloak? Otherwise it sits on the pile of treasure.

Dieter - Mage

Not wanting to "pounce" he'll pass on the cloak. I'll wait to see what the end effect of the web is, if either is still free I'll attempt to put them to sleep. Are we sure it's only the two of them?

Bars Tolvik attack

Einar's cloak is left behind.

The party bursts through the door (surprise d6, 1, SURPRISED!) and surprises those within. Bars is there with two others and you caught them in mid discussion.

Grimes springs into action with a web spell from his cloak, capturing all in the area!

Furuk fires a bolt from his crossbow (d20, 15, HIT, dmg d8, 8) which kills one of Bar's associates.

Dandy (autopilot) throws his hammer at the other associate (d20, 17, HIT, dmg d8+2x2, 2+2x2=8) killing him as well.

Dieter casts sleep on Bars (save vs spells, d20, 18, FAIL) and the last of them goes down.

Bars snores away and his two associates, bound in webbing, are dead.
