Combat round 1
Initiative: enemy 4, party 2
The dark cloud presses its attack while the party races to the rescue, splashing throuh the shallows of the ford.
The creature lashes out with its two claws at the lone man in plate mail, but misses his mark. The man swings his mace in retaliation, but hits nothing. Recovering from his failed blow, he looks up to see some of you racing toward him.
"Help! Help!" he cries. "I come bearing a message. A message from the gods!"
The dark cloud's claws shift, suggesting the creature is turning to "face" you. "Stay back, helpless beings" it hisses. "This one is pledged to me."
Roikos, Taranna and Joffrey thunder toward the melee. Aristide dismounts, as does Joffrey. The creature appears to ignore Aristide's challenge, and Joffrey's question.
Zelaz, still in the saddle, murmurs in the ancient, seductive language of the arcane arts. He'll be able to fly next round.
Tasrem would not be close enough for his web spell to entrap the creature. Since he is an experienced mage, I will assume that he closes the required distance first. He can cast his spell next round.
Roikos, the only character in melee range--this round--swings his flail into the darkness, but he misses.
Aristide 44/44
--Max 19/19
Tasrem 14/15
Sir Joffrey 46/51
--Zephyr 15/19
Roikos 50/50
--Peny 14/16
Well, that wasn't very exciting, was it? When the casting of a spell takes a complete round, and the closing of great distances takes time, some rounds are better than others. Next round will be better. Actions?
