Anadrea

Finishes eating her apple and pulls an arrow from her quiver. She holds the arrow up and gazes down the shaft of it looking with one eye. She then inspects the flight. Satisfied she returns it to her quiver.

She interjects and looks around at her fellow party members, "Sounds as though time is of the essence. What say you about leaving today before the cult gets wind of us coming?"

"A pack mule can be provided but it will slow your travel to the mountain, increasing your journey an hour or more. We will make sure one is with you and your guide when you leave.

"I'd advise you wait until morning to head to the volcano. We cannot get your potions to you by then anyway and the forest road to the mountain can be dangerous at night, even if there were no cult. I'd prefer you get to the mountain unmolested.
"

With that, Master Gruber pulls a long cord near the wall. Moments later the same man who lead you here reappears. Gruber gives hushed commands--you overhear things about leading you back and getting you the potions, as well as arranging for cleaning the meeting room--and then bids his leave. The man who lead you here looks at you a bit exhaustedly, as his work for the evening is just beginning. He waits for you to finish eating and then leads you back to The Rat and Pig the way you came.

It is obvious on the walk back that the increased guard the Master was telling you about is here in Wolford: you pass three patrols on the way back. However, you return safely to the Inn and tuck in for a good sleep before the morning's activity.

"Aye, in the morning it is."

Before retiring for the evening she sharpens her longsword and checks over her gear

Maeglin debates returning to his poker game, but decides he needs to be fresh and alert in the morning. With a nod to Sal, he heads off to bed.

In the morning a young lad with a spotty face is waiting for you at The Rat and Pig. Introducing himself as Wearte and looks about the same age as the kid you are set to rescue. His appearance suggests either feebleness or wiriness, he is so thin, and you are unsure if the smell of stables comes from the boy, the mule, or both.

He tells you in a cracking voice that he has the elixers you requested and is ready to leave when you are. He knows the way well because he has travelled it many times to visit his cousins, shepherds all, and to carry wool to his mother his mother here in town.

He asks if there is anything you'd like to get done before you depart. He certainly seems to have no problem waiting for you as the day is warm and mostly sunny. If you leave now, he thinks you should get to Skull Mountain near dusk, at least at his normal pace.

Cygnus paces around outside, taking long draws of smoke from his wooden pipe, briefly stopping to examine the mule. He turns his attention to Wearte.

"What do you know about Skull Mountain, lad?" he asks.

Cygnus appears ready to leave immediately but is content to wait for the others.

With the arrival of morning, Maeglin heads down to the tavern area of the inn and grabs an apple and a cup of coffee.

With the exception of his lucky card protector and a deck of cards, all of his usual gambling supplies are left in his room. Under his suitcoat he has arranged his throwing knives and wands, and settles his rapier on his hip.

'Armed and armored is no way for a man to earn a living,' he thinks to himself. Far better to have a deck of cards in one hand and a drink in another, whilst a comely young lass kept his drink fresh. Still, cults tended to frighten off the easy marks, so it was in his best interest to help deal with this problem.

That, and the reward money would stake him into much bigger games in due time.

Dieter will find something small to eat (bread/fruit) and drink some water. Then he goes out to wait with the others... "Good morn!" he nods toward his companions.
