Dieter - Mage

Grimes, we can finish him from here. Be thoughtful that we are meeting the minions of this place... there is hardship yet to come. Pursing his lips: If you must, please be careful though. When Grimes jumps down Dieter will turn to the others: I have 10 gold on Grimes, any takers?

Grimes - Fighter

Grimes nods at Dieter and says "No worries, Poseidon will look out for me." He's aware the sea lion is watching him, so he'll do his best to try and jump on him using Wave to spear him really good.

He winks at the group as he jumps. Then "YEEEEEEE-HAAAAAA!"

The Boots give Grimes a bit more spring to his step. He leaps across and down at the final seal lion. Grimes Wave attack [1d20+5] = 17+5 = 22 Wave thrust before him, he skewers the beast as he lands, ending the final foe.

The rest of the party climbs down the reverse ziggurat and is at the bottom. The floor is puddled but the majority of the water has drained. There is a door to the south and a safe door to the north in the lowest tier.

Castinus checks for traps on the safe Thief skill [1d100] = 78. Finding none, he tries to pick the lock Thief skill [1d100] = 19
and sets off a trap. The remaining glass walls shatter. Had the aquariums been still full, you would have had a wet time. The safe door opens and inside you recover 6000 sp and an azédarach necklace worth 3000 gp. Theo fills his sack and groans under the new weight. Castinus offers the necklace to Shae.

The door to the south is of a strange metal. Castinus again checks for traps (we all know how that can go) Thief skill [1d100] = 40 and finds none. Turning the inset handle you discover that it is unlocked and opens easily. Rather than swinging open like a regular door, the door opens like a flower, four petals blooming and revealing a corridor leading dead south and ending in a door.

Hmmm... not time like the present. Let's see what the door has to offer.

Furuk - Fighter

Furuk helps Theo load the coins into his bag. He hands him 10 of his own gold coins as a tip.

"Hang in there buddy, we'll be out of this dump soon."

Before proceeding down the hall, Furuk allows Castinus to search for traps ahead of him. After the search is complete, he walks with his sword in hand towards the south door.

Grimes - FIghter

Grimes gives Theo a thumbs up. "He's right, Theo. Hang in there. You'll be living the high life once we finish this journey."

Grimes taps Wave on the floor and says "Alright then, let's go! I'm just itching to skewer this Craptis guy."

The party heads down the corridor. The door opens easily, even as Castinus bends to search for traps.

The door opens to reveal a luxurious room, huge and ostentatious. The floor is strewn with rugs and cushions, and tapestries cover the walls. A six-foot hookah stands in the corner beside a sumptuous divan.

Rising in surprise as you enter is a halfling, smiling in obvious pleasure. He holds a carved walking stick.

Grimes

Grimes smiles and says "Well, I'll be." Then he becomes suspicious. He says in Halfling "Hello, brother! What are you doing here?"

OOC: Let's see if this guy can speak Halfling, and what he comes back with. I'd be willing to bet this guy isn't a good guy.
