Tasrem starts to believe he also forgot how to make incantations. Seeing how useless he is for now to the group, he steps back a little.

Sorry, kwll. Bad luck on the previous round, and now this. Sleep works on creatures up to 4+1 HD. Hellhounds range in hit dice from 3 to 7. These particular creatures had five. But I'm confident Tasrem will deliver quite the smack-down soon enough. Hey, his name is an anagram of Master. How could he not?

Zelaz casts Continual Light into the eyes of the final hellhound.

Taranna

Taranna will try to get a shot off at the "perfectly good" hellhound.

Joffrey - Noble Warrior

The knight, will dismount then send Zephyr to the back of the party, hopefully out of harm's way. He then will circle to the remaining hound's rear. If he is able to get an attack in as well he will.

ROIKOS: Cleric

As Joffrey turned Zephyr towards him, Roikos thought to reach out and heal the brave steed; alas, Joffrey was too quick on the dismount and 'horse-smack' sending the injured workhorse into safety. The angry Cleric redirects his momentary distraction toward the remaining, healthy opponent. Under gritted teeth he seethes, "Breath your hellfire no more!" as he attacks the hound with more determination.

Combat round 4

Initiative: party 2, hellhound 1

Aristide investigates the fallen men. He recognizes some of them from the reserve forces you accompanied to the village.

Tasrem stays back.

Taranna looses an arrow at the remaining hellhound, but her shot goes wide.

Zelaz casts continual light at remaining hellhound. The hound's red eyes turn to yellow. It's now blinded, and begins to whimper, thrashing its head around in confusion.

Joffrey leaps from atop Zephyr, landing gracefully on the ground. As his trusty steed retreats, he lunges after the blinded hellhound, delivering a mild blow (4 hp dmg). The creature steps back.

Roikos leans in and brains the creature with his flail for 8 hp dmg. The hellhound howls in agony, turns tail, and begins to run as fast as its infernal legs will carry it.

One charmed hellhound remains, tail still wagging.

Aristide 44/44
--Max 19/19
Tasrem 15/15
Taranna 34/34
Zelaz 15/15
Sir Joffrey 36/51
--Zephyr 5/19
Roikos 50/50
--Peny 10/16

ROIKOS: Cleric

Through gritted teeth and gnarled lips he growls, "no. NO!" as he spurs Penhaligon into a full sprint after the firey beast.

ooc: He'll attack if he gets close enough.

Aristide - Fighter

Aristide looks over the men, checking to see if anyone fits the Bishop's description. He shouts to the others "These are our fellows. Poor buggers." He'll carefully search the area, looking for the Bishop and any evidence of how these men died, and glancing about nervously, if anyone or anything is lurking about.

If the hell hound outpaces Roikos, Zelaz will offhandedly cast lightning bolt on the creature to finish him off.

Otherwise he will scratch his new pet behind the ears and helps investigate the men. If there is evidence we can return with, it would be helpful, I think. We should also probably get back before dark -- they might need our assistance on the watch tonight, Black Company!
