Rory's eyes light up at the mention of the gold. He nods silently at receipt of the ring, and then begins to mingle with the ladies, accepting the first--and subsequent--drink put in his hands.

Marcus

This gold will do good in the coffers of my order: it will be used to feed the hungry, shelter the cold, and arm the just. Your generosity is most welcome. As to the ring, I will wear it proudly and hope that it brings us peace when battle might otherwise ensue. Now, friend Mangalore, let us talk of many things, and Marcus begins chatting with him about the history of the Wolverine clan, their beliefs, and Mangalore's plans for their future.

The night is filled with singing, dancing, tribal celebration, and no shortage of admiration heaped upon each of you for your efforts. With about 10% of the village speaking fluent common, you find a good number of villagers eager to speak with you all, and those who don't speak the tongue, well... they hug you, kiss you and by their wild gesticulations and speech, you get the gist that they love you guys.

Marcus disappears early in the evening, as he and Mangalore engage in deep talk. Mangalore seems to welcome the company of Marcus, and you don't see him for the rest of the evening, as he, Klekt and Mangalore retire to the Chieftan's hut.

Nahin engages in merriment and curiously finds himself surrounded by several of the elderly of the village, who seem enthralled with his hair color and elvish good looks. One of the old gentlemen tells a story of an engagement with a band of orcs and a particularly nasty ogre mage that was thwarted by the timely intervention of a band of wood elves almost 100 years ago. From the comments, Nahin gathers that he bears a striking resemblance to one of the elves. He spends the night mingling with the crowd, and several of the ladies shadow him, and it's clear that if he desires to, he won't need to spend the night alone and cold.

Several of the larger men of the village engage in a drinking contest, and Rory, Jayce and Theo get roped in. Theo and Jayce succumb to the evils of the booze after several rounds, and pass out, but both are not losers, as they are dragged off by the ladies of the village to warm huts and warmer hospitality. Rory (thanks to some impossible saves) manages to outdrink all of the assembled warriors but one, and he finds himself elevated to Wolverine rockstar status and eventually retires with 2 young maidens, chuckling happily as he calls it a night.

Morning comes and with it, a biting cold wind and ominous looking clouds on the horizon. Most of the group are up early (force of habit) some with a mild hangover, but Klekt provides a pungent concoction that tastes like foul gym shorts, but restores your senses and makes the hangover disappear. You've all decided that with the threat of winter weather, it'd be best to hastily return to Daggerford under the escort of the Wolverines. You pack your things, and Mangalore makes good with his offer of gold, and each of you have the promised sack as you depart.

The village turns out to see you off, and Mangalore, Klekt and the others wave and shout sincere goodbyes, with Mangalore restating his pledge that you shall always be welcome here. With that, you depart, riding on sturdy draft horses accompanied by 30 Wolverine warriors. They have been given orders to escort you to Daggerford and see you safely inside.

(As I mentioned in PM's earlier, there are no encounters - but there is some snow. It takes 4 days, 2 of them hard travel in snowdrifts, but you make it to the gates of Daggerford at about 4PM on the fourth day. The Wolverines stop outside the gates and bid you farewell. They choose to turn around now, for fear of being caught here for the winter. They thank you again, and they are quickly off, into the blowing snow. The gate guard shouts happy welcomes to you all, and you enter the city, which is not too bustling due to the weather. Marcus says "Perhaps we return to the inn? They do like us there, eh?"

Actions? You have no orders to report to Sherlen or Sgt Schultz. You can probably save that till the AM.

"Just in time for dinner," Rory says with a smile, thinking back fondly to his companions from the previous evening. "Heh heh. Twins," he muses.

Nahin - Elf

Aye, the inn. Always a hot meal and warm bed... but what of tomorrow? Where should we make ourselves useful?

The comfortable and familiar Lady Luck Tavern is ahead, and you shake the snow and cold from your bones as you enter. Opening the door, you see the establishment is mostly full, likely a result of the cold and snow pushing patrons inside for food, drink and cheer. As you enter, Owenden the innkeep materializes with a tray of tankards and shouts "Dutybound! I thought you fellas would be stuck up in the North for the Winter! Glad to see you back!" A group of farmer locals are occupying your usual table, but seeing you enter, they get up and motion for you to sit, smiling and offering warm welcomes as they do.

But just as you begin to sit, a booming guttural voice shouts "YOOSE GUYS!" and Marcus is ambushed from behind, the victim of a bone crushing bear hug from your old friend Dak, looking just like you left him. "I missed yew guyz. Where been you at?" He sits with you at the table after giving each of you a body jarring backslap. Theo smiles, greets Dak and sits quietly, seemingly preoccupied.

Owenden brings you your usual fare and you settle in, feeling comfortable and glad to be back at the familiar if not boring confines of Daggerford. The night is yours, what would you like to do?

Nahin - Elf

Dak! He will say with some surprise. What are you doing in these parts? What the hell have you been up to? Nahin will tuck into some dinner and ale listening intently to Dak's update.

Rory digs into his food, only half listening to Dak's tales. He begins to scan the inn crowd for other familiar faces, friendly or otherwise.
