Nice work Grimes. Moving around the dome works for me. He'll take the gems from Grimes. If the henchmen seem nosey he will say: I possess magics that blind permanently, place your attention elsewhere. Before leaving he will also look at the robe.

OCC: Sheet updated with gems.

Dieter examines the robe. Although of fine quality and nice embroidery, the robe does not seem at all magical. Gatto accepts the dagger and

The party leaves the room and continues to the next. The balcony is still quiet of activity and you are not disturbed in your quest.

Einar listens at and examines the door. (Secret roll) He hears nothing and then waves Furuk and Grimes to the door.

Like the last room you checked, this room has a wooden frame with bedding and a chest. There is also a low table in the corner. (Secret roll) Unlike the last room, this one is occupied!

A Darkling Captain is here, and not too pleased to be disturbed when off duty. (secret roll) Neither side is surprised. He starts at Grimes, as if surprised and enraged by something, yells <<Perisai TCHAR>> and charges!!!

Grimes growls and charges at the Darkling, sword of dismemberment swinging wildly!

Hold on guys, let me see if we can turn this turd. Dieter shrugs unsure about the effect but continues anyway, he pulls out his scroll of charm person and tries to cast it on the darkling.

OCC: Scroll deducted.

Cappy

initiative baddies d6, 4, party d6, 2 baddie wins initiative

The darkling attacks Grimes (d20, 19, HIT, dmg d8+1, 8+1=9) and scores a major hit on the halfling.

Dieter casts Charm Person on the darkling (save d20, 1, FAIL) and the Darkling's eyes glaze over. He succumbs to the spell and befriends you.

Gatto (who knows lizard-lingo) says, Before he charged, the darkling screamed "Shield of Tchar". I have a feeling he meant your shield with the golden scales. I've heard that shield not only enrages the lizardfolk, because it's holy to them but that it emboldens the shieldbearer. Very nice. He asks the darkling and he replies that the story he relates is true: that Tchar is a saint of the lizardmen and that his shield is what saved the lizardmen from the assault of the dogmen (Gnolls) in the Battle of Razemeth and gave them superiority over all of the land. Gatto translates this with a nice dash of editorializing.

(It is a shield +1 and makes its bearer immune to fear)

This room has a wooden frame with bedding and a chest. There is also a low table in the corner. Einar tries the lock on the chest (d100, 81, FAIL) but can't pick the lock!

Gatto, tell the Darkling to open the chest.

Grimes, you'd better find some healing with haste.

At Gatto's command, the Darkling Captain opens the chest. Inside you find a silvery black robe, a dwarven-made hand axe, and an elven cloak. Gatto immediately says, My Axe! and grabs for the axe. He kisses the blade and smiles sinisterly. He tells you that the cloak might be Greenstar's (the elf you are rescuing), but he isn't sure. It is like a replica of the one Einar wears.

Upon prompting, Dandy touches Grimes with his Staff of Healing and (d6+1, 4+1=5) Grimes feels a bit better.

Dieter will pat the darkling on the back as a show of good work. OCC: This thing is armed, right?

Dieter will examine the dark silvery cloak closer. As for the other cloak: If this is Greenstar's we'll get it back to her. Does anyone want to use it in the mean time?

Soooo.... do we keep the circle going? To the others.

Grimes - Fighter

Grimes nods and thanks Dandy for the healing. "Much better. I'm still a tad dinged up, but I'll be careful. Can't lie though, It'll be nice to rest up a bit."

Let's ask the darkling a few questions:

1. Where is Greenstar (the Elf)? What are they going to do with her (or is it him?) How do we get there?
2. How many other lizards are in this dome and around the area - where, and numbers
3. Where is the idol, god or whatever they are worshiping here? What does it look like?
4. Is there another way out of here that he knows about other than the way we came?
5. Are they aware we were coming? Any special planning for us?
6. Does he know of any treasury or loot anywhere?

(Sorry, a lot of questions, but Grimes is curious...)
