Dieter - Mage

If Dieter can get a clean shot off without endangering the party he'll toss a dart at tiny.

A "Tiny" Problem

Initiative Tiny d6, 4, Party d6, 5 Party has initiative

Dieter throws a dart at the flaming beast (d20, 8, MISS) but the heat from the lava below causes it to fly errant.

Einar (autopilot) fires a magical arrow (d20, 17, HIT, dmg d6+1, 4+1=5) hurting the creature, yet it lives.

Furuk swings his sword (d20, 19, HIT, dmg d8+3, 2+3=5) and he gets Tiny's attention!

Grimes swings his biting short sword (d20, 7, MISS) but he can't make contact.

Dandy (autopilot) swings his dwarven hammer (d20, 10, MISS) but also can't connect.

The magically blinded salamander turns to the latest source of his pain and attacks Furuk with claws and bite (d20/d20/d20, 4, 3, 20, miss, miss, CRITICAL HIT). His claws rake at open air but his bite is true and Tiny's fangs sink into the half-orc (dmg d8, 8). Tiny twists and attempts to pull Furuk over the edge (STR check, d20, 18, FAIL!) and succeeds. The two tumble over the edge and into the lava field below!

Dandy and Grimes are both burned by their hot armor (1HP each). Further, being in melee with the monster has burned Dandy (d8, 1) and Grimes (d8, 2) on top of that.

Tiny and Furuk are locked in combat in the hot lava below, the magical ring on his finger the only thing keeping the half-orc from burning to a crisp!

Grimes - FIghter

Grimes curses at the situation, sheathing his sword and pulling out his bow - next round he'll engage Tiny with the bow.

:o

Furuk tries to find somewhere stable to stand if that is possible. He'll continue to fight the salamander in the pool of lava.

Hot tub

Initiative Tiny d6, 5, Party d6, 1 Tiny has initiative

Tiny contends with Furuk in the lava, hampered by his blindness. He goes for a claw, claw, bite attack (d20/d20/d20, 6/9/1, MISS, MISS, CRITICAL MISS) but his claws swipe at thin air and he bites his own tongue accidentally (2 HP damage).

The party responds.

Deiter pulls his scroll and weaves the incantation, using the Monster Summoning II spell. The air over the bridge seems to shimmer and the coalesces into (d6, 4) four (roll for random monster from the AED 2HD monster list, d39, 6, Devil, Imp) 2' tall devils with blue-skin, bat-like wings, small horns, and barbed tails appear. They take a minute to orient and then swarm down a pillar of rock from the bridge to attack Tiny. They will get there next round.

Einar (autopilot) nocks another arrow and fires (d20, 5, MISS) but his aim falters.

Grimes also fires his bow (d20, 17, HIT) but although the shaft finds its mark it burns away without damaging Tiny.

Dandy throws his mighty hammer (d20, 1, CRITICAL MISS) but the hammer unbalances him and he falls and will spend the next round getting back up.

Furuk fights in the lava against drowning (STR check, d20, 1, success) and succeeds. He swings his sword awkwardly in the lava (d20, 19, HIT) and manages a blow (dmg d8+3, 5+3=8) and he sunders the flaming elemental.

Tiny is dead.

Furuk still struggles to keep from drowning in the lava pool in his heavy armor, although the ring he wears keeps him safe from the heat. The Imps race down the pillar but are confused when their quarry dies. They seek guidance from their master.

Dandy and Grimes still bake in their armor (1HP damage each).

On the far side of the pit, the final lizardfolk warrior, who had been watching the battle with glee and shouted "WHEEE!!!!" when Tiny took Furuk into the lake of fire, has a look of shock on his face.

Grimes - FIghter

Grimes can't do much to aid Furuk, but he can kill one tool of a lizard. He'll charge to the other side, intent on dismembering the last lizard.

Furuk will attempt to find a place to hold on for safety and not drown. He yells up to the others, "The beast is dead! Somebody please help me back up!"

Dieter - Mage

Dieter will take out his rope and soak it with water. He will command the devils to take one end down to Furuk as fast as possible. He will then try to get Furuk to the edge and try to help pull him to the top. A little help! He will ask the others.
