I like the "Street Walrus" angle. That's it. He'll be a unique new multi-class: Thief/Walrus.

So I'm going w/ Thief. what the heck.

ROIKOS

Image

Stat rolls started out uber awesome (using my lucky, purple, precision, backgammon dice!) but the next 2 rolls were 'meh' and the last was downright horrible!

In any order:
15
15
14
9
9
6

Thought I would cheat - just a lil'bit - and reroll 'em; not so much to get higher than 15, but just to get rid of that darn 6! Here's what my "cheat" rolls were using the same "lucky" dice, mind you:
3
13
14
12
6
10

Guess I should have pulled out my 19mm Casino dice! A mean DM would say, "Well - for cheating - you get to make your character with the second, 'cheating,' dice rolls!" hahahaha :P

So the 6 is your wis score, right? I think my thief will have a dex of 6 or less, just to make it interesting. Did I mention he's blind and with a peg leg? Move silently is tough, but you should see him climb walls.....

I'm not a mean DM, fortunately. Sumo, remember the rule in basic D&D:

You can lower your STR, INT or WIS by 2 points in order to raise your prime requisite by 1 point.
Dexterity cannot be lowered, but it can be raised if you have a thief or halfling character.
Constitution and Charisma can never be lowered.
No score can be lowered below 9, or raised above 18.

Also keep in mind that while a high wisdom is great for saving throws vs spells and getting that cleric xp bonus, it doesn't really influence your spell-casting or undead turning abilities in basic D&D. In my last game, Kipper ran a cleric with a wisdom of 9.

Just some options for you. Keep that first set of dice rolls; you can still make a very good character with it.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's all wonderful. But what's the ability score modifiers and bonuses for walrus PC's?

It's been a long time since I've read (or had to remember) those rules; thanks for the advice/tips/reminders!! I just thought it was funny that even 'trying again' yielded such bad results; I'll live with the 6! hahaha :D

Walrus PC's in basic have a max of 5 for all ability scores except for CHA which is pegged at 3.

The good news is that your fellow PCs can sell your tusks for a nice profit if you were to meet with an untimely end. Handy for buriel fees. Or just spending it all on the three Ws. (Wine, Women, and Walrus hides.) ;)

Is it a Portuguese walrus? Or is it a Detroit walrus? If the former, no adjustments; if the latter, it's probably already been killed by Ted Nugent. I bet the Motor City madman is quite handy with a harpoon.
