Nahin - Elf

Nahin will eat and agree with Buck on double watches. Nahin is willing to take any assignment in the schedule. It's probably going to get colder yet. He will say with a grimace.

Jayce - Fighter
Jayce pulls his cloak tighter as he goes about helping to set camp. "This isn't cold...this is just a tickle." Jayce grinned as he envied Marcus' dagger.

Marcus, paladin

Let's set up our usual watch. If it are flying sorcerers or spider-men we need to worry about, then we keep an eye out for them too.

Han Overfist, augur of Tymora

"Stew eh? well then you need to be in line first...as the stuff gets picked out all that will be left is soup (big smile)"

Nahin - Elf

Seeing Han take over cooking duty he gets a bit more hungry: I'll take the left over "soup". He makes a "Augur of Tymora" pho by adding dried egg noodles to it from their stores with a couple of slices of dried meat re-hydrated by the soup. Makes the cold seem more bearable.

You eat your stew, which turns out to be a welcome relief from the blowing cold, and after getting your gear and mounts ready for the night, you make your prep to bed down for the night.

We'll use your normal watch and add Buck to the mix. He suggests having two geared up, but one awake and the other dozing.

You finish the coffee and stew, and sit about chatting for about half an hour, then Buck calls it a night, and you all turn in.

Toward 1AM or thereabouts, Marcus and Grinkle are on watch (Grinkle is awake, Marcus is half-asleep) and Grinkle elbows Marcus and says "Sir! Sir!, Something approaches!" and he motions to the trail westward, where a large shape meanders just outside of your firelight, pausing. The shape is rocking back and forth slowly, but is keeping it's distance.

Grinkle slowly stands, adjusting his gear and bringing his sword up.

Actions?

Marcus, paladin

Marcus whispers, Grinkle, quick! Wake the others quietly. He stands and faces his potential foe, sword drawn and ready. He tries to use his Detect Evil ability...

Grinkle makes it to Rory and shakes him awake, but before he can rouse any others, the shape strolls to within 30 feet, and you see that it is a brown horse. It has a bridle on it, but no saddle. It looks very skinny, and has several nasty looking claw marks on its legs and a couple on it's side. That's as much as you can make out at this distance. The horse comes toward the fire timidly, staring at you, and suddenly, it approaches you at a trot... before you know it, the horse is nose to nose with you (Marcus) and is nuzzling your shoulder with its nose and poking about your gear curiously.

Grinkle comes to your side and just stares, scratching his chin. Rory, you are roused by Grinkle who abruptly shook you and said "Sir, Sir! Intruder!" You are composing yourself, and see no intruder other than a slightly emaciated yet seemingly friendly brown mare.

As you all look at each other, Buck suddenly leaps up with a shocked "HUH?" And he grabs his glowing ax and stands gathering his senses....
