Leon checks the vertical stone slab for any seams. Also, are the statue's feet toward the wall, or is its head?

Your torch continues to illuminate the scene before you..

Leon checks out the statue with Turin. Turin touches the statues hand, and watches as it's finger breaks off and falls the floor. It appears quite brittle. The statues feet face toward you & the doorway you entered through.
Zavenorrin can find no visible moving parts that connect the back wall and the dark stone slab.

Balfa studies over the 2 bronze etched plaques on the back wall. A metal slat is present on the top and bottom. He notices they look like they could slide to either side. He reads the inscription on the right hand plaque (B) which says, "Here lies F'Chelrak....the gates of death are not locked for him."
But nothing noticeable happens.

What are your next actions?

Let the red dawn surmise
What we shall do,
When this blue starlight dies
And all is through.

Zavenorrin looks at Balfa. "I guess we could move these slats one way or the other. What other option do we have?"

Balfa

The dwarven warrior simply shrug his shoulders in response.

Turin, cleric

I'm at a loss, says the cleric. I know not what our next move should be.

Which of the 2 plaques would you like to slide off it's slat?

Leon checks for traps on each of the 2 plaques (behind the scenes DM rolls). No traps are found. They look like they would slide to either side. Which one would you like to open?

The plaque on the left (A) reads in well worn common etching, "Read this & weep.." the right hand plaque (B) says, "Here lies F'Chelrak....the gates of death are not locked for him."

Turin, cleric

Turin points to A. That plaque looks less ominous.

"Fair enough." With that, Leon holds his breath and pushes on the plaque. (A)
