Athelstan - Fighter

Athelstan nods and says "Pleased to meet you. If vengeance is what you seek, then look no further - we are happy to exact such vengeance on our common enemies. Athelstan smoothes his cloak with the crest of the Duchy, and says "What news do you bring, good men?"

"Indeed," Gregor says. "Two nights ago, the goblins overran our camp." Shaking his head, he continues. "Cowardly bastards! Just as we were starting supper, too. Burned the palisade, sank Kalanos' boat."

Yuri breaks in. "Kalanos escaped," he says. "Most weren't so lucky. Some were killed. Some taken prisoner."

Gregor casts a quick glance at Pyotr, then back to you. "They've taken Stephan."

Athelstan - Fighter

Athelstan glances at Pyotr, then the rest of the group. "Do you have an idea of where they've taken him?" Athelstan raises a clenched fist and says "Worry not, good men. We will rescue Stephen, and wreak a terrible revenge upon those who would do this. None will survive our wrath!" Athelstan gets caught in the moment, and with a determined grimace and much wringing of fists says "Let's get a brief rest, and depart as soon as possible. Stephen deserves to be back with his family."

Tret, rogue

Tret nods to Gregor, While the others rest, I'm sure our spellcasters need to re-memorize or whatever they do, let's talk tactics so we can leave post haste with a plan. Let's get a map out and see where your camp was and where you think they took Stephan and the others...

Renardius (Cleric)

"The Gobbos are more active and brave than normal for their kind. There's something else behind this, mark my words. But for now, rescuing Stephen and the other captives is a good plan."

Athelstan - Fighter

Athelstan nods at Renardius' comments "Yes, goblins aren't smart and don't generally act with such bravado. It will be interesting to see what is behind this."

Pyotr turns to you as you make your offer. "You have done and lost so much already," he says. "I am amazed. Thank you."

"Taras!" he shouts. "Get the map."

As Taras disappears upstairs, Pyotr continues. "Tonight we celebrate. Stephan not back, but I have faith you will find him. Many guests," he adds, looking around the room, "and not too much food, but plenty to drink."

As Pyotr disappears to make preparations, Taras returns, spreading a map out on the table.

Note: If you don't see the Island of Lost Dreams on the Eastern edge of the map, then you'll need to save the image.

"Here's Sukiskyn," Taras says, marking the map at your present location. "And Ilyakana is up here," Gregor adds. "There's also the Sielo lumber camp."

"There are also other homesteads," Taras informs you. "Cherkass, Hokol--"

"Hokol was destroyed," Yuri grunts. "Burnt to the ground."

Taras scowls. "What about Cherkass?"

"We don't know," Gregor replies.

Taras exchanges glances with Alfana, his wife, who hails from Cherkass. "I hope they're all right," he says.

Soldath - Mage

Nursing a mug of ale and rubbing his chin... It looks like Cherkass might be a good place to start our hunting. Go through Hokol to check for survivors and then cut east?

Athelstan - Fighter

Athelstan agrees, and then he'll set about removing his armor and gear, piling it close by in an orderly fashion. "Time to eat, drink and then rest. Tomorrow will come early enough."

While we are dining, Athelstan will question the men about what the goblins looked like (what tribe, if they know) and if they had any help or accomplices that looked to be non-goblins.

Athelstan will try to cheer Pyotr and the family as best he can, "Don't despair... we survived the attack here, we retrieved all the surviving horses, and tomorrow we'll leave and we will find Stephen and kill all those responsible for his abduction and this cowardly spree of attacks. You can count on us."
