Thus a few of you finish packing blankets and bedrolls back onto horses (anyone that hasn't already stated they want to bring a pack animal can still do so) - and all is readied to head into the gnarled marshlands to the west.

You step out at 1000am in the prescribed staggered marching order. The area you enter is still mostly a forest consisting of stunted cedar trees and aspen leafed trees that look a bit unhealthy. As you travel on a mile or so in the ground is quite spongy, gnarled tree roots, pools of dark standing water and thorny brambles make walking in a straight line nigh impossible. You hear the familiar sounds of wildlife but it is mostly the cawing of ravens, and you spy a few chattering dark brown squirrels. Large banana slugs nearly a foot long can be seen with increasing regularity sticking to wet stumps and crossing the ground leaving thier slimy trail.

You stop for a quick lunch around noon and continue on. It is hard to get a vantage in this thick marshy forest. After several more hours of travel in, you find the biting black flys and mosquitos more of a nuisance. A light drizzle begins to fall from the sky adding to your woes.

500pm - your journey is becoming tiresome and you are no longer certain you are traveliing straight west. To the west of your position, perhaps 100 yards/meters through the trees there appears signs of a slight hill and possible clearing.

What are your next actiions?

Balfa

"That yonder hill seems like the only place suitable for camping we have laid eyes on all day. I say we go and take a gander."

occ: Balfa brought all of his animals along. No way he's leaving them behind.

Immalor, Elf

"Aye, let us explore that higher ground. Perhaps it will be somewhat dry, and maybe less buggy!"

Says Immalor as he slaps a biting insect from his neck. He will have short bow at the ready when the group begins the reconnoiter.

Leon nods silently and leads his horse toward the hill, ready to draw his blades at the first sign of trouble.

You start your ascent through the gnarled, stunted forest up towards the clearing you spot through the hazy drizzle. A few steps in you pause as you hear the beating of giant wings, you crouch down and catch glimpses overhead of a massive dark green winged creature flying overhead in the grey sky. It is heading west and continues on not seeming to spot your group. A dark, cryptic shadow passes through the trees.

You ascend the gradual hill. At the top is a large clearing, some 200 yards/meters across. No grasses seem to grow inside the hexagonal shaped 2' - 4' ruined walls present here. Inside the hexagonal clearing is bare muddy ground. The clearing inside the hexagonal walls is approximatley 120 meters/yards across. Ringed around the hexagonal clearing stand 9 large stone tombs constructed of some type of obsidian or granite. The doors to the tombs within your sight all appear open, and there are muted muddy footprints about.

It is now 530pm, it will be dark in about an hour, what are your next actions?

"I feel something creepy about this whole place." mutters Zavenorrin. "Putting up a camp just beside tombs might not be the best of ideas in this wretched swamp. Now do we have other options?" asks the elven warrior around, a bit louder.
