Bob - Dwarf Miner
str 13 int 11 wis 14 dex 6 con 11 chr 6 hp4
pickaxe (handaxe) lantern , flask of oil
Bob is perpetually dirty, being in the mines so much that the grime seems to have permanently etched into his skin. After an unfortunate fire, he plucks his beard and is therefore sometimes mistaken for a halfling. His name isn't really Bob, but that's the nickname he picked up as his real name is in an obscure dwarvish dialect that even many of his fellow dwarves cannot pronounce properly.

Isaac - Mendicant (wandering friar/holy man)
str 9 int 13 wis 16 dex 7 con 16 chr 14 hp5
staff holy symbol holy water
Isaac comes by this town (as all towns in the area) annually, staying for a week or two at a time. What he preaches is tolerated by the major churches and quite simple, as it is intended for the simple folk -- a kind of "do a good deed daily" and "keep physically fit, mentally aware and morally straight." He claims to have a deeper knowledge though, and can sometimes be caught holding one-sided conversations (which he denies).

Art - Street Urchin
str 7 int 7 wis 8 dex 11 con 12 chr 12 hp 3
big stick (club) begging bowl piece of chalk
Art lives up to his name, creating drawings on the street for money. He has a deft hand a drawing (and for other things -- he does like to supplement his income with a purse or two if he can get them unseen). He is able to charm his way out of undesirable situations with the local authorities, well most of them anyway.

Clerical & Magic-Using types will get extremely limited "magic". Think along the lines of cantrips.

Clerical types can pray. It might be answered, it might not. (maybe heal a point or two, maybe a bonus for one round,bless/purify a small amount of food/drink, create a small light, detect evil magic or poison, etc.)

Wizardly types can do small things like light a candle, create a small illusion, zap someone for 1 point damage, use very limited telekinesis(close & light object), make a dancing light or ventriloquism, slight protection vs heat/cold. Their magic may not always work.

They can also use scrolls if found. First level spells will fail 25% of the time, and if they fail- have a 25% chance of something bad....
Second level spells will have a 50% chance of both. Third wil have 75% chance. Fourth and beyond are beyond your understanding.

Clerical-
Cultist
Acolyte
Mendicant (friar/holy man)

Wizardly-
Elf Astronomer
Hedgewizard

Thief types can try the same with Thief skills, but with a limited chance of success.

Street Urchin
Burglar

Dwarf Miner will have skill with stonework. Forester will have skill at outdoors/hunting. Others will have skills pertaining to their occupation.
(the Halfling is a good cook!) ;)
