The party found them in a small bag, inside the skulls of 5 humans that were hung upside down with their heads buried in the dirt... The 5 human bodies were dead for quite some time, to being freshly hung. The one that was hung their the longest had the Larvae growing into the head with root like appendages growing out of their tails. At least in my version of things, they were on their way to becoming a sort of half-demon. There was a person making them, and was following a process they learned of in an ancient manual of sorts.
