This Week at a Character For Every Game

Big week with some major "releases" for me:

• The Ruins of the Gorgon - a fully stocked level 4 dungeon with a few unique monsters
• Dyson's Dodecahedron Issue 3 - The third monthly installment of articles and adventures from my blog in PDF format
• Enchanters - a magic user subclass for B/X D&D and Labyrinth Lord
• Enchanter Spells - 8 new spells for the enchanter
• 6 Magic Potions - culled from the pages of a half-complete Labyrinth Lord sourcebook
• DungeonMorph Dice - Joe's kickstarter project to make awesome 1" dungeon geomorph dice - I'll be working on the map design side of this project.
• To The Mines! - Map of the entrance to a set of dwarven mines

So, I managed to forget to post this last week. So I'll just skip that week's posts and tell you all that if you aren't checking out the blog regularly you are missing some cool shit, like my post-apocalyptic rad ruins, new potions, a collection of free LL downloadables, and my one page dungeon entry - Into the Worm's Gullet.

So let's get on to this week!

• Rad's Ashes! - my second post-apocalyptic map posted to the blog - the rad ruins!
• Baboons - recently Rock Baboons (Higher Baboons in Labyrinth Lord) have taken over as my favourite gang-up critter, replacing goblins as my go-to-gangs. Here's why.
• Carnage & Criticals - bringing the concept of Warhammer FRP style critical hits to basic D&D, and keeping it simple.
• Ember Crag - another one of my maps, this time a volcano dungeon that turned up twice in one campaign, and exists to appear another time in a different (evil) campaign.
• Flowing Fountains - random tables to add detail (and a twist) to dungeon fountains.
• Inifinite Caves of the Shroom-Goblins - first of three posts detailing this dungeon drawn by JDJarvis.

Hola! Another week, another occasional post of interest to you old-schoolers:

• Last week I introduced the Infinite Caves of the Shroom-Goblins.
• This week I present the fully stocked contents of said caves in two posts. Areas 1-14. Areas 15-29.
• An overview of the first 10 days of the RPG Blog Carnival on RPG Cartography (warning: lots of links... like two score of em).
• Journey Down The Dark One Mines - a map from a game of How to Host a Dungeon.
• Tucker's Kobolds - editorial on my hatred for the little beasts, and a Tucker's Kobolds racial class for Labyrinth Lord or Basic D&D.
• Lost Cities of the Fallen Empire - First set of tables to determine the basics of a lost city to explore.
• Erdea Manor - Surface and first levels of this classic-styled dungeon that I'll be stocking on and off over the next week.

Easter Weekend is here, and that means another week of posts to pimp and promote.

• Erdea Manor was the main push of the week. I introduced the first level map last Friday, and stocked the first level in two parts on Monday (part 1) and then on Wednesday (part 2). Then today I posted the map for level 2, a level with secret passages and rooms linking various areas where an assassin used to roam.

• Random Pirates and Buccaneers - expanding on the encounter listing for Pirates and Buccaneers with a pile of unique pirates. Because every pirate deserves to be something special, or at least not a clone of either the Dread Pirate Roberts or Jack Sparrow.
• Level 1 Necromancer Spells - stolen directly from Diablo II and converted to classic D&D
• Six new Geomorphs that I drew for the DungeonMorph Dice project.
• And finally I compiled my posts on The Infinite Caves of the Shroom-Goblins into a six-page PDF to irritate and annoy your players.

New material of interest to the old school (excluding my rants and editorials)

• A Dyson Mapping "Tutorial" - a quick overview and step-by-step scans of how I draw my maps.
• Forgotten Geomorphs - Six new geomorphs that taste great together!
• [Random Thursday] A Xenomorph May Be Involved - random generation tables for "minor races" in Star Frontiers
• [Friday Map] Erdea Manor - the Depths - map of level 3 of Erdea Manor

This has been the week of the Vertical Geomorph (with obvious blame aimed at Jeff Rients)

• Vertical Morphology is a page that collects the current vertical gemorphs from the blogosphere in one place, including my own contributions to date.
• Elven Warder Class - Labyrinth Lord class for elves who have dedicated themselves to the wilderness, becoming warriors of the woodlands and plains, backing up their potent skills with specialized magics from their kin.
• Elven Warder Magics - six new spells for the elven warder class.
• Cartography Carnival Wrap-Up - hundred or so articles and blog posts of maps and cartography from the April RPG Blog Carnival. Some amazing maps and great reading for mappers in here!

While I'm going to be spending most of this coming week on that Turducken of Stupid, the ultimate in bad post-apocalyptic RPGs, deadEarth, this past week was a lot more OSR-friendly.

• Return to the Tutorial Dungeon - A compact-and-yet-sprawling dungeon map extended from the side-view map I drew for the "Dyson Mapping Tutorial" I posted last month.
• Return to the Temple of Illhan - Come see what Justin Alexander has been doing with the Ruins of the Temple of Illhan.
• Vertical Morphology has been updated with not only a bunch of new side-view geomorphs of my own, but from blogs all around.

While I've been spending a bunch of time with deadEarth lately, I decided I could make it somewhat useful to everyone else by including Mutant Future stats for my deadEarth creations.

• Inquisitor Crocodiles - Mean mind-controlling crocodiles, the alpha predator of my game.
• Award-Winning Dungeon Design - Check out the winners of the 1 Page Dungeon Contest (including my own entry!)
• Erdea Manor, Level 2 - Exploration following the footsteps of Vera, our Ogre Adventuress.
• Random Thursday - Tournament Games - What event do you get drafted into while the level 9 fighters are out there jousting?
• Friday Map - Erdea Manor Catacombs - The fourth and final map of Erdea Manor.

• Dyson's Dodecahedron Issue 4 - Erdea Manor Levels 1 & 2 (and background information not included in the blog posts) in a nice portable document format that prints out into a digest-sized module to fit into your ODD boxed set.
• The Future Has Gone To The Dogs - Two new types of mutant dogs (MutaPacks and Hercules Dogs) for Mutant Future games from deadOttawa.
• Erdea Manor - Level 2 - Part 2 - The second half of level 2, stocked and ready to roll along with an Ogre Adventuress!
• The Ruins of Random Dungeons - Session report (with maps) from an old-school random dungeon delve.
• Labyrinth Lord Collaborative Dungeon 2 - our second collaborative dungeon on the Goblinoid Games forums.
• Friday Map - The Monastery of Electrum Flowers - A map. Of a Monastery. There may be flowers.
