A new style perhaps?

A new style perhaps?

Postby 3llense'g » Thu Dec 16, 2010 10:00 pm

I googled phpbb styles out of curiosity, and found a few looks that I think might (with some tinkering) suite our community. :)

This one's a bit cheesy:

And two ones based on WoW, but those parts can be removed:

IMO, Dirtyboard is a bit busy. Ok, a LOT busy.
Dragonia is indeed made of cheeze.

To be honest, the fantasy themes are typically dark themes, which are harder to read.

I've been browsing themes a bit but haven't seen anything that really jumps out at me. I kind of like this one:

I see what you mean.

I disagree, I think it's harder to read something that's glowing into your face. :) The 5th Anniversary theme is lighter though.

It's hard to find any decent ones. I was thinking something old-school related, like graph paper or something. :)
That green one looks like an iMac commercial to me. Too clean. :P

With something like "xandred", then I could easily replace the background fade with a background grid.

I don't hate the look of the board as it is, but something very subtle - like graph paper/geomorphs or 'parchment/scroll' paper could be pretty cool. The variations of blue & white in this board gives me an "ink & paper" feel and I kinda like it. Like the LL/AEC stuff - just sterile black & white... until you "read" it.

Just good old Subsilver2 would be easier on the old noggin. I wish somebody would create a Subblack2 for this newest version of phpBB!
It is a joyful thing indeed to hold intimate converse with a man after one’s own heart, chatting without reserve about things of interest or the fleeting topics of the world; but such, alas, are few and far between.
