Experience - Divided or Not?

I may be misreading the book, but experience seems to be handled two different ways. The section on character advancement in the characters chapter (page number 15) states that XP is divided by the number of characters in the group. However, the description of the experience entry for things (page number 52) says that the listed number of points is awarded to each PC. See my confusion?

Thanks!
Matt

Let's see:

From page 15:
For each thing destroyed, a certain number of XP are awarded to be divided by the number of characters in the group.

Page 52:
Experience: This is the number of experience points granted for destroying or otherwise defeating the thing. This number of points is granted to each PC.

Yup, sure looks like a conflict there. XP for "team victories" should be divided up amongst the team members, and XP bonuses should be doled out to individuals for good role-playing, nifty ideas, and such.

Sorry, that is errata. The experience are granted to each player, not divided.

Edit: sorry I was in error, it is divided!
