"Honor her like she deserves!" Hal shouts, never taking his eyes off the charging beast, readying his sword for another attack.

Magnus fires his gun into the air. "Muffit, NO!" he yells.

[[Hidden reaction roll...]]

The spectral hound slows its charge, startled by the gunshot as well as hearing its name shouted.

Magnus charges into the water, splashing and thrashing to reach the hidden watery gravesite. The other three men step back as Magnus dives underwater, holding the bracelet out. He reaches out for the corpse's exposed wrist and deftly puts the bracelet around the exposed wrist. The corpse's hand clentches into a fist as Magnus breaks the surface of the pond.

The five men stare around the grotto as the winds pick up. The overwhelming floral smell of the forget-me-nots fills the air. In the moonlight, you can see the flowers beginning to die off along the edges of the glade, slowly moving inward to where Audrey's wraith stands. You each shield your eyes as there's a flash where she stands. When your eyes are clear again, you can see Audrey Burke as she once looked...a young woman in the prime of her life. Hal steps aside as a flopsy ghostly dog dashes by him, runs across the surface of the pool, and leaps into the wraith's arms. The ghost smiles at the five of you.

“Thank you for remembering me,” she says as she and her pet fade from view and from the mortal world. Audrey Burke is now at rest.

EPILOGUE

It’s been a month since your adventure in Timber Grove, and there has been no further word of supernatural activity in that area. Audrey Burke’s body was recovered and laid to rest next to her father in Timber Grove Cemetery. Her mother made sure that the bracelet was buried along with her daughter. Audrey’s name was also added to the Tillamook Memorial plaque, which needed to be refurbished to fix the damage some "local vandals" apparently did to it.

The killings of two park rangers, two police officers, and Logan Baxter remains under investigation, but is still unsolved. It’s theorized that a copycat killer surfaced who had hoped to become as infamous as Baxter, but no suspects have surfaced. Fortunately for you, The Society's contacts throughout the law enforcement and legal channels absolved all of you of any involvement in the new murders. And the person most instrumental in clearing your name? Your new ally in the fight against the paranormal - Police Chief David Perry.
