When Number Nine lets go of the door to open the next one, it swings shut quickly and violently with a loud slam! The door is reopened by Number Nine, standing in the room.
It appears that the door will need to be held, barred, spiked or otherwise held open (or the party enter the room between) before the far door can be opened.
