Athelstan - FIghter

Athelstan glances up at the rope, and starts to climb. As he gets close to the top, he'll slow down to make sure he doesn't sabotage Tret's stealthy efforts, but still keeping close enough in case Tret gets in trouble.

Tret, rogue

Tret holds the rope until the warrior gets up. Then he motions for Athelstan to hold the rope and hands it off to him, picking up his bow and keeping alert for danger while the rest ascend the berm.

kwll wrote:"Do you want me to lift you up there?" asks Meringered to Anja, half expecting her to say no.

Anja hesitates at the bottom of the rope.

"If the wolves get our horses while we're up there, Loshad will never let us hear the end of it..."

Finally, after everyone else has climbed up except herself and Meringered, she'll accept his help in boosting her up to the rope.

The scraping of your leather boots against the damp rocks and the straining of the rope make much more noise than you'd like them to. With Tret, and then Athelstan, hanging on to the rope, you all manage to make it up the cliff without falling, though Soldath and Anja do lose their footing once, rubbing their palms raw (no damage).

Anja calmed the horses enough to leave them alone. I trust at least one of you remembered to tether them.

You stand before a cavern entrance about six feet high and five feet wide. At first, you're startled by ghostly white faces set into the walls. Closer inspection, however, reveals them to be horse skulls mounted on wooden pegs.

Who's going in first? Is anybody carrying torches or lanterns?

Athelstan - Fighter

Athelstan whispers "Let's get some light ready, then let's mass rush this place, just in case anyone is inside. If they are, they probably are aware we are out here anyway."

OOC: What Athelstan is proposing is that we enter in a formation like a wedge, tanks up front, everyone else behind them. So each person who enters has a field of attack, and we bumrush the entrance EXPECTING to be ambushed upon entry, and then we kick a$$ on whatever is in here. Then we can attend to the horses, as we can't leave them out if this cave is empty, they will surely detect them upon return.
