Athelstan - Fighter

Athelstan says to the goblins "If food and riches are what you wish, then join us against our common enemy - the Vipers. With your presence leading the way, we can likely force our way into the lair, and make short work of them. And when the smoke clears, you can take all the food and loot your arms can carry."

Athelstan poses this as less of a question and more of a fact... this IS what you are going to do. If they hedge... then it may be bad for them.

The first goblin narrows his eyes. "You think we can take them," he asks?

The other two goblins eye the door warily.

Athelstan - Fighter

Athelstan nods his head and says "Damn right, we can take them. We've killed Vlack and his gang, plus countless others. Working together we can destroy them... totally. And with you all leading the way in, it will confuse them and buy us enough time and surprise to hit them hard."

OOC: Whatever. Athelstan just wants them to be meat shields. Assuming they honor their word and fight with us, I told them they could take all the food and loot they could carry. Carry is the word. And I don't think they have much place to bargain with us.

Tret, rogue

Tret looks at Soldath and Athelstan with distrust. Aiding and abetting, he mumbles.

The goblins throw their hands up to cover their eyes. "No! Please! Make it stop! It blinds!"

OC: Sorry, man. I had just finished typing that the goblins proudly took up the staff and began crossing the river when I remembered that goblins hate light.

Tret, rogue

The goblins' response makes Tret smile. Props to Soldath on that one, he says to no one in particular.

Athelstan - Fighter

Athelstan scowls at Tret, then says to the goblins "What'll it be?"

"Okay, okay! We'll do it," the goblins snivel. "Just make the light go away."

The goblins splash across the river, swords in hand, approaching the door. Assuming you follow, you see that it appears to be heavy oak, securely fastened to a wooden frame built into the earthen bank.
