Castinus recoils at the sight and smell of the dwarf intestines, covering his mouth and nose with his hand to avoid throwing up. He looks at the intestines, then at the chest, then at the intestines again, then, with a look of determination on his face, the chest. He's too horrified to speak. Keeping his mouth and nose covered, he'll attempt to kick or slide with his feet the trunk out from under the bed.

Castinus kicks the trunk out from under the bed. Apparently it was of poor construction and it bursts open and its contents spill out.

Inside you find 2x500 GP gems (one amethyst and one emerald), 1000 EP, 75 SP, two scrolls, two potions and a wand. (This is turning out to be a very profitable adventure)

Both Theo and Karl agree with Furuk (although they are not injured) and think it's been a long day. Time for some dinner and maybe some shut eye.

Grimes - Fighter

Grimes agrees with our porters. "Yeah, it's time to eat and rest. Poor Furuk needs some healin' too." He glances at the intestines and says "Perhaps a change of scenery might be nice before we nap, eh?"

OOC: What do you all think? A defensible position to crash out in? Or do we go all the way out and camp? Might get better rest that way. At any rate, let's gather the loot and move out.

Dieter examines the book, which was being read by the Quaist but appeared to be reading itself as the daemon was invisible at the time.

The book is the Tome of Cruel Lies, which details many curses: a dark and evil book if Dieter ever saw one. He looks at the other books on the shelves. Many are memoirs and a few histories of the area. Most of the books are moldy and in some sort of decay but a few might be valuable to the right person. (INT check, d20, 2, SUCCESS) Dieter is pretty sure that no one in Wolford meets that requirement, at least no one he's met.

Is the party holing up here, somewhere else, or outside?

Dieter - Mage

Dieter will nab the tome and then take a look at the scrolls.

OCC: not sure if we should hold up here or not. Sheet updated with the tome.

Grimes - Fighter

Grimes nods at Dieter and says "I think we should go back outside. We are still close enough to the top, plus we can't be trapped in here. They'll know we've been here soon enough, so I think we withdraw till we're fully healed, then sneak back in and wreak more havoc."

OOC: Seems better to go out and recuperate outside in our element, versus being in the ogres turf. Especially if they mount a recon in force to see what's going on up here. We've dinged em' up pretty good, so they'll be not liking us for that.

Castinus picks up as much of the treasure as he can carry. "Hey guys," he yells. "Help me out, would ya?"

Loading up the treasure is done as quickly as possible.

Dieter examines the two scrolls. One is a scroll of Ward Against the Undead. The other is a Wizard/Elf spell scroll with Floating Disc and Levitate on it.

The party makes it out of the place and holes up where they had before, a short distance away from the entrance to the manor. It is early evening, already getting dark on this autumnal day, and there is a definite chill in the air.

Anything you want to do before bedtime? Spells cast or a special watch?

Actions?
