Day 24, Soladain, Thaumont 24th, Ruins of Xitaqa, nightfall

Tret scouts ahead. He finds three paths through the boulders and steep-sided gulleys of the escarpment that lead into the city. It's hard to see much in the gathering darkness, but the top of the tower, and a few ruined buildings (B and Es), cut into the bedrock of the gulley sides, are visible. The paths quickly bend and twist, however, into the rocks and out of sight.

A few lights flicker in the tower. All is quiet.

Tret, rogue

Let's get in there while it's dark. Perhaps a wolf's nose might help, Soldath. Regardless, I say we take the centre path, keeping as silent and invisible as possible.

Soldath - WareMage

Soldath will see if his olfactory senses seem any more sensitive than before. Other than that he follows along trying to be as quiet and invisible as possible.

Tethir - Elf

"Aye - nice and quiet in the dark is the way forward, Tret."
Tethir takes a look around for any sentries or scouts, trying to see through the gloom.

"The middle path is as good as any."

Athelstan - Fighter

Athelstan shakes his head at Jorg and says "Perhaps that will be necessary, my friend. I'd prefer to poke my eyes out with a dagger, but I value my life." He shrugs at the mention of taking the center path. "If it were my position to defend, I'd have a guard at whatever is the main entrance, and ambushes set on the flanks. Center seems as good a way as any."

OOC: So do you think we should rest to regain some HP and spells, and then maybe head in before daybreak?

"How safe would it be to sleep outside?" asks Meringered, a bit naively.

Old Anja (Shaman)

Anja shrugs. "Why delay the inevitable." She begins to head down the center path.

Tethir sees nothing. Soldath smells nothing.

So, who's following Anja, and who's staying behind to rest?

Ain't leavin without me, grams, says Tret as he joins Anja.
