Calthas brings up the rear, his bow still in hand.

This corridor is sheathed in polished chocolate-brown hued marble, veined with black. Inlaid in the floor are triangular pieces of polished yellow marble, forming a definite path leading to the north. The brown of the marble shades toward beige as it proceeds northwards. Large bronze cressets are staggered at 10' intervals on either side of the hall; someone or something obviously keeps them fueled and burning brightly.

To the south, the 20' wide passage is sheathed in marble, veined with black. Its hue darkens as one proceeds to the south. At the angle turn, the walls are decorated with painted scenes showing captives of all sorts suffering death by water, wind, and fire. The pictures seem to emit a fiery glow when watched.

Thurwin - Wizard

Thurwin stares wide-eyed at the paintings on the walls, then at the marble floors. He says quietly "This is getting creepy. I'd venture to say we are entering some sacred area or something. We need to be cautious." He points toward the passage to the northeast wall nearest the party. "Do we clear this closer passage first? Or see what's going on ahead?" Thurwin motions toward the wide passages and says "These ominous features make me think perhaps we are near the main headquarters of these people..."

OOC: Who took Romag's armor and did anyone take his flunkies armor? Perhaps we ought to put on our robes again to obscure our identities, especially if these people are aware that something is up. If someone is wearing Romag's armor and a brown robe, it might be helpful.

Tavin put hos robe on and sheaths his sword. Either direction hides danger....

"I vote clearing any areas where enemies can come at us from behind. I agree with the robes and armor, but I fear I'm at a small disadvantage." the Gnome says as he looks his small stature up and down.

Thurwin glances at Calmert and says "Oh, I didn't think of that. Hmmm... " He then pulls his brown temple robe out, pulling the hood over his head. He then dons the velvet brown vestment taken from (presumably) Romag's room. He smiles and says "Maybe all this getup will give someone pause. If most of us have the robes on it might confuse anyone just long enough to get the upper hand."

OOC: Thurwin dons the robes, glancing at his brother as he does... he knows Morgan wouldn't likely approve, but his white robes stick out like a sore thumb.
