Dieter - Mage

By the gods... he will say seeing the dragon. He will then pull out the mask of terror and try to scare L1.

OCC: Can the dragon follow us out of this room? I'm thinking we grab Greenstar and exit out. We can then take the man sized critters out and return for the dragon.

OCC: HP is blinded, correct?

OOC: The dragon is huge. The door is man sized. He cannot follow.

OOC: HP was blinded. Now HP is being digested.

Dieter - Mage

Seeing that Furuk is engaging L1 Dieter will still put on the mask of terror and wave his arms at the big uber reptile. Booga, booga, booga!!!..... Hoping this works or he will soon be an appetizer.

Spanningtree with the last minute change in action. I'll allow it. ;)

Avatar battle round 2

INITIATIVE baddies d6, 5, party d6, 2 Baddies have initiative.

Razemeth the Avatar pulls aloft completely out of the water, scans the area and chooses a target {secret roll}. He breathes on people on the staircase, his acid stream of doom hitting Clarence, Greenstone and DA1. Even with saving throws, all are wounded enough to die on the spot.

D1 and L2 attack Grimes (d20x2, 8, 12, MISS, MISS) but neither can connect.

L1 strikes at Dieter (d20, 7, MISS) but also fails in his attack.

L3 and L4 attack the Dwarf Cleric (d20x2, 10, 7, MISS, MISS) and both fail in their attacks as well.

D2 and D3 attack Furuk (d20, 11, 12, MISS, MISS) but his armor protects him.

(OOC: Holy moley are these some low rolls. Making up for the last round, dice?)

Dieter dons the Mask of Terror and uses it on Razemeth the Avatar (save vs Spells, d20, 1, FAIL). Razemeth is terrified.

Dandy (autopilot) throws his hammer at the Dragon (d20, 18, HIT, dmg d8+2x2, 8+2x2=20) wounding the flying beast.

Grimes quaffs his Potion of Super Heroism and heroically retreats up the stairs. He is temporarily level 8 and gains 21 Hit Points.

Furuk also decides that retreat is the better part of valor and is hot on Grimes' heels, taking a moment to chop at L1 (d20, 20, CRITICAL HIT, MAX DAMAGE) slicing L1 nearly in twain, killing him. (OOC: there's the high roll. sheesh)

Einar (autopilot) stays hidden, waiting for his chance to strike.

Many foes are dead but some remain alive. The Razemeth the Avatar, the ancient black dragon, is magically terrified and wounded. Greenstar and Clarence are dead, melting in a pool of acid. Dandy is cheering, Finish him! because he's a crazy dwarven cleric.

OCC: Hey gents, do you think I should try to sleep the dragon or some of the smaller vermin running about?

Grimes - Fighter

Grimes will about face and charge toward the avatar, preparing to cast his web spell on it once he's close enough, then he'll close for melee! He'll avoid the lizards if possible, or cleave at them on his crazy charge down!

OOC: If its faster to go around and down, rather than the stairway that's what he'll do.

Once Furuk reaches the top of the stairs, he will stay close to the room entrance in an attempt to prevent any attack on Dieter.

"Try to keep those lizards occupied Dandy!"

He will change his weapon to a crossbow and fire a bolt at the dragon.

Avatar battle round 3

INITIATIVE baddies d6, 3, party d6, 5 Party has initiative

Grimes charges the Avatar and casts Web using his cloak (save vs Spells, d20, 3, FAIL) and Razemeth is entangled in the sticky strands, effectively grounded. He falls from the air and lands on the edge of the pool.

Dieter casts continual light on the Dragon's eyes (save vs Spells, d20, 8, FAIL). The Razemeth is blinded!

Furuk lets a bolt fly from his crossbow (d20, 15, HIT, dmg d8, 5) wounding the creature. It screams in rage and you can tell instantly that he is no longer terrified.

Dandy (autopilot) attacks L4 at Furuk's suggestion (d20, 11, HIT, dmg d8+4, 7+4=11) killing the lizardman. I'd rather be throwin' me hammer, boyo, says the Dwarf to Furuk.

Einar (autopilot), still cloaked in the Elven Cloak, neaks behind the fallen Avatar and attempts a backstab (d20, 17, HIT, dmg d8x2, 7x2=14), sinking his blade deep between scales. The rest of the party sees him as his invisibility is broken by the attack.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
D1 and L2 decide to aim for Grimes, who has charged nearly right into their arms (d20x2, 7, 14, MISS and MISS) but cannot connect with the halfling on the edge.
D2 sees Einar and races over to attack him, to defend his demigod, (d20, 4, MISS) but also cannot connect.
D3 decides to attack Grimes as well (d20, 19, HIT, dmg d6+3, 4+3=7) wounding the Super-heroic halfling.
L3 goes for Dandy (d20, 4, MISS) but the dwarf cleric is too heavily armored.
Razemeth the Avatar (no longer terrified because he was attacked) yells, Death take you, halfling! (the last one he was able to see attacking him, before blinded) and breathes Acid on Grimes, hitting those (L2, D1, D3) that are also attacking the little guy. Grimes (save vs Breath, d20, 20, SAVE) takes half damage from the breath. L2 (save vs Breath, d20, 12, FAIL), D1 (save vs Breath, d20, 7, FAIL), and D3 (save vs Breath, d20, 11, FAIL) do not make their saves, taking the full brunt of the acid. They melt in pools at the Halfing's feet.
Image
Smoke rises from Grimes' armor from the acid. Both Einar and D2 are caught in the web encasing Razemeth.
