I was told it's max for first level.

Yes we are using advanced HD
Im allowing you to start wtih some basic equipment (Armor, 2 weapon, Backpack, 2waterskins, and someone can take the rope)

When my GM ran this we started from basics and lost everyone atleast once. I want to see if AEC rules can increase survival rates

Do you mean max XP? No, we start at 0 XP and max hp. For a fighter, that's 10+CONmod.

That means my thief starts with 6HP. He may survive the first session yet!

I have slight dyslexia and I read it as XP not HP - my mistake - sorry about the confusion

Nah, If the group survives and decides that you want to run "Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil" then we shall implement age rules
