IMHO, i think the background is a little distracting from the wonderful map. I would go with a parchment paper look with a texture. Just by 2 cp. :D

I agree with knightvision. The map gets lost in the texture. Fade that a bit, IMHO.

Beyond the background, you might want to consider making the crosshatching consistent. Either make it go all around the caverns or leave it out everywhere. Other than that, great map!

Thanks for the additional feedback, I see your points.

Here is another map I drew up last night. It is going to be caverns inhabited by Giant Raven-like beings and Giant Rooks with charm person abilities. There are 2 entrances. The one on the right is a cliff side entrance that the creatures fly out of to gather gold bits (often by way of bloody murder). The party would need to dangerously scale the cliffside to use this entrance. The other entrance is blocked by a large boulder, that would require some STR rolls for the party to move aside.

I was going for a macabre flavour to the map. If you stare at it for awhile vague eldritch shapes can take form..(maybe if you drink a few beers 1st it would help :geek: )

Looks better. Are you going to put a grid on it? Scale? :?:

I too like the new background. The initial one was overwhelming. Scale would be useful. Even without a grid some indicator would help a lot.
