Spanningtree, with all the rain that's fallen over the past two days, the door is soaked and swollen. Based on Soldath's high intelligence, he probably wouldn't have tried to light it on fire. You're free to try a different action in its place, if you'd like.

Soldath - Mage

Soldath shrugs in frustration and puts the oil away. Well, we can either knock harder of try and beat the door down.

OCC: Oil added back to sheet.

"Maybe no one's home," one of the goblin suggests. The other goblin slaps him in the face. "Shut up and knock!"

Soldath - Mage

I'll give each of you a gold piece if you can make enough noise to bring the occupants to the door. How does that sound? Holding up a GP and smiling.

Athelstan - Fighter

Athelstan chuckles at Soldath's motivation attempt. He adds "Yes, beat on that door with your pommels, hit it like there's food behind it!"

Athelstan will stand back far enough to ensure that no one is sneaking up behind us or from the sides.

The goblins continue knocking. If there's anybody home, they continue not answering.

After beating their knuckles and palms raw, they give up. "Now what?"

What now, indeed?

Athelstan - Fighter

"Bah! can we break this thing down with our combined strength? Let's try!"

OOC: Doable? if so, let's try. Athelstan is pretty dang strong, and Renardius is too. Let's do this.

Tret, rogue

There must be some other entrance. Obviously there's none here but somewhere there must be. Or some of our stouter fellows can try to bash the door down, says Tret with a meaningful glance at Athelstan.

Renardius (Cleric)

"We've already made enough noise, let's see if we can force the door. If not, we'll have plenty of time to look for another entrance."

Renardius joins Athelstan in attempting to strong-arm the door open. He especially looks for the area where the doorframe is attached to the rock, as it will possibly be the weak point and may be amenable to force.

Athelstan and Renardius throw themselves at the door like it was a filthy Traladaran peasant protesting the Duke's reign. After much slamming, rending and splintering, and between their muscles and their weapons, they break down the door.

A dark cave lies beyond.

Actions?
