DCC RPG adventures??

Postby Blood axe » Wed Mar 13, 2013 10:20 pm

I have all the DCC RPG Adventures to date. Ive skimmed them over, some more than others. They look like they could be a cool new LL adventure with a little conversion. The fatality rate might be high, but thats what DCC is all about! ;)

I just finished running the first of the DCC adventures (the level 1 one that came with the original printing of the book). It worked fine. But then again, I'm a "master" of converting on the fly.

I think that overall DCC and LL are pretty compatible and you can import rules from one game to the other without much problem. For example, you can bring in DCC spell effects tables into LL if you want more of a serendipitous feel, or bring LL spellcasting into a DCC module if you want more predictability. The key is not to get too hung up on getting a conversion "right" and instead focus on the fun of the adventure.

I have read through the emerald Enchanter & it seems like it would make a cool LL game.

Okay I am a wizard in DCC. So I have to write those HUGE tables for every spell I got?

Agreed. Why would you write it? Just look up the spell in the book and start rolling dice.

Labyrinth Lord has spells and I dont write down each spell description. DCC , you roll the dice and look up the result. Each spell has a lot of d ifferent results. The rulebook is huge. But if you roll well, you can cast the same spell multiple times, not just once as in LL/D&D.
