I've created a campaign at http://www.UnseenServant.com with the campaign ID: 136

Please use this for creating your characters. It's easy, peasy:

1. Go to http://www.unseenservant.com and create a profile.

2. Follow these instructions: http://www.unseenservant.com/default.as ... #character. Again the Campaign ID is 136

3. Follow these instructions to roll stats: http://www.unseenservant.com/default.asp?do=guide#stats. We're using 4d6c1. Arrange stats however you'd like.
Once you've rolled the stats, link to them here using the "PbP Forum code"
You don't need to use the character sheet there, I will provide a template (which is essentially the same as the template everyone uses on this site).

4. Give me the basic info for your character (race/class/subclass/alignment/etc). All characters are starting at Level 1 with max HP for their race/class. We are using advanced HD (AEC21).

We are using LL/AEC with subclasses as defined by Dyson Logos https://rpgcharacters.wordpress.com/tag/subclasses/. Because of this rule, characters can be a class with a subclass or a race with a subclass but not both (for example, you can be an Halfling Thief Fence or a Halfling Brewmaster but not a Halfling Brewmaster Thief and definitely not a Halfling Brewmaster Thief Fence). Alternate classes might be allowed at my discretion, so don't be afraid to ask. Chances are good that if the class or race makes sense and is well defined, it will be allowed.

Classes are first come, first served, so that if you see others have already made two fighter characters, consider a mage, cleric or rogue. An unbalanced party will die pretty quickly. So might a poorly aligned one, so choose your alignments wisely. A paladin and a chaotic-neutral fighter or lawful evil assassin won't work, and I'll help make sure of that. :) That said, an entire party of LG or CG characters might get old quickly, so think it through. If you have questions on alignment, please let me know.

Experience Points would use the simplified system from DCC as described in DCC26 (0-4 XP per encounter and set XP thresholds for all classes). This will hopefully simplify things for all involved. Because of this, multiclassing would not be allowed.

When character sheets are done, I will give XP bonuses for backgrounds and portraits. If you have a cleric or paladin, contact me about potential patron deities.

The bandits ran afoul of a traveling Taoist contingent returning to their lofty temple in Huashan. Tavin was raised by these monks. As he is coming of age the abbot asked him to commit to a wander lust before he take his permanent vows to the temple. He is to travel for as long as he needs to in an effort to come to the conclusion that there is nothing of consequence beyond the temple walls at Huashan.

Tavin strives to be neutral as a result of his teachings but can sometimes be a bit heavy handed.

Thurwin hails from the walled city of Dyvers, the second son of a well-regarded and wealthy merchant family. Thurwin has always admired his older brother Morgan, a novice Paladin. He aspired to the same calling, but was not as gifted as his brother, and chose magic as his path. Although a wizard, Thurwin follows a code of conduct akin to his brother - he despises evil in all forms, and believes in chivalry and good deeds. He is handsome, charismatic and smart, and has a gift for making friends and influencing others. Unlike most mages, Thurwin is not a scholar, he sees magic as his vehicle for purging the realms of all evil, and aspires to be a famous adventuring wizard - no dusty towers and stacks of books for him. He doesn't dress like a typical wizard, rather in fine clothing with a striking white cloak - a nod to his brother, whose signature color is a snow white cloak over his polished plate armor.
Turning 20, he has recently finished his apprenticeship and has decided it's time to set out with hopes of joining his brother on some fabulous quest. He's journeyed to several locations on the trail of his brother, only to find him one step ahead of him. His brother's trail ended in the vicinity of Homlett, and he's currently evaluating his options - keep looking for his brother, or look for a group of like minded individuals to seek fame and fortune.

Background:
Caydon hails from the Free City of Dyvers on the shores of the Lake of the Unknown Depths. The youngest son of a prominent merchant family, he had spent many long evenings attending various balls and social functions to further his father's ambitions. It was at such a party that he met Thurwin. Although the two boys disagreed on the "proper" way to have fun, there was enough common ground to form a lasting friendship,
Tragically the Barcel family was trully "family" and his father and many loyal to the Barcel clan were killed during a coup regarding leadership of the Thieves Guild. When the dust settled and the last body fell, Caydon was the last member of the House of Barcel. Taking stock of his life and knowing there is a price on his head, he turned to his friend Thurwin, who was the only truly good person he knew. When Thurwin left town in search of his older brother, Caydon left with him.

Rilo was born the son of a reasonably successful merchant. From an early age he showed none of the charm of his father, he was quiet and reserved and would shun the attentions of the other children in favour of wandering the nearby forests and fields. As he grew through his teens he showed some natural talent with a sword and began to spend his days hunting alone bringing food back for the villagers. When he came of age he left the family home to study at the local ranger and his family rarely saw him.

Roughly a year ago, Rilo returned home for a visit to discover that his older brother, Matai, had not returned from a trade delivery and his desperate parents pleaded with Rilo to search for him. Reluctantly Rilo agreed, unable to disappoint his parents.

Since then Rilo has been travelling following rumour and tales, the reason for his brother's disappearance no clearer than it was a year ago and more frustrating than ever.

Character background:
Grimulf’s father — a Schnai chieftain — showed mercy to an opponent in battle, and for this offense, Grimulf and his brother Stregghi saw him quartered before the entire village. Shamed and fearful for their lives, they soon lit out with no particular plan but self-preservation, making it as far as the Ratikan capital of Marner, where Grimulf, the more able-bodied of the two, was taken by a press gang and made a galley slave aboard the Cruski pirate vessel, The Black Maw. His grim sense of efficiency and physical attributes impressed the captain enough that within months he was promoted to the crew, and given a full share in the sacking of the merchant vessel, The Austringer. He always knew that berserker blood ran in his veins, but this was where it made itself manifest. Homesick and somewhat shellshocked, Grimulf jumped ship in the port city of Hardby and started to wander.

Grimulf is tall, sinewy and fair-skinned, and pulls his blonde hair back in a top-knot. Over his chain hauberk he wears a cloak made of wolf pelts, even in these warmer climes. Like any self-respecting barbarian, he has a great liking for large hunks of meat and strong drink. Among his clan, he was known to be talkative, even boastful, but the hand fate has dealt him over the past year has made him a bit more reflective … except when the battle frenzy overtakes him.

Character background:
Father Redmond was a tailor (rolled randomly on the Secondary Skills table) for all his life before taking the cloth. Always a man with a sense of humor, this surprising turn of event occurred when he inadvertently gave a courtier of the court of Rauxes a suit made as a prank for one of his friend. The courtier presented the suit to the Overking without looking at it. Little need to say that His Celestial Transcendency was quite surprised to receive a coat made of pink feathers. Sentenced to jail, it is there in his cell that he met with an old crazed wizard who told him about Zagyg. Having nothing better to do, Redmond listened and discussed with the old wizard, learning the minutia of his faith. As the weeks and months went by, the wizard explained to Redmond that he was preparing a complicated ritual that would allow him to contact his patron which will free him from this prison. As the ritual was completed, the runes on the cell crackling with mystic energies, the god Zagyg decided to play a prank on his follower and saved Redmond instead. Finding himself in a port city, Redmond thought it unwise to return to Rauxes and instead took place onboard a ship bound across the Sea of Gearnat and landed on the Wild Coast. Sensing a connection to the deity that saved him, Father Redmond, now a self appointed cleric of the God of Humor, is trying to reach the Free City of Greyhawk in order to learn more about his new patron.

Mount(s):

Character background: Morgan of Dyvers, though born to a life of privilege, never took his position for granted. Handsome, muscular, and popular with the ladies, forceful and strong-willed, he eschewed the benefits these gifts could have brought him, choosing instead to always look after everyone else, especially his younger brother Thurwin. He soon developed a reputation as a tough fighter, yet gentle with those weaker than him, wise beyond his years, and outspoken in fighting evil and corruption. His zeal often put him at odds with his merchant father and some of the other wealthy citizen of Dyvers.

Morgan's dark side includes terrible fits of depression and doubt.
