Goblinoid Games Convention Attendance 2011/2012

Postby Goblinoid Games » Fri Aug 05, 2011 3:13 pm

Hi all,

I am planning out my convention attendance for the rest of this year and into next year. I'm going to be initially hitting local and semi-local cons, but in 2012 I will also try to attend either Gen Con or Origins, but not likely both. I'll update more of the later part of 2012 as time goes on. At each con I will run demos, and if anyone is in the area who would also like to come hang out and/or run demos please let me know.

Here is a list of the cons I plan to attend at this point:

February 2012
GamiCon Feb. 10th-12th, Iowa City, Iowa (CONFIRMED)

Fire & Ice Feb. 24th-26th, Manitowoc, Wisconsin (CANCELLED DUE TO TIME CONFLICT)

March 2012
GaryCon (CONFIRMED, Goblinoid Games will be present)
Lake Geneva, Wisconsin

May 2012
Gaming Hoopla, May 4th-6th, Janesville, Wisconsin

Just wanted to let people know that due to family obligations GG won't be attending Oshcon, but we still plan on attending the others.

Just a quick note that when I contacted Gary Con in November they apparently had already sold out of vendor tables. There is a small chance one may become available. If it doesn't, I may not be there, haven't decided yet. I just wanted to post a heads up about this.

 They can sell out of vendor tables? You'd think they could just pull another card table out of some back room somewhere, particularly for a company that has been such a leader in the old-school gaming movement. Wow.

I contacted them around mid-November, and given the growing popularity of GaryCon I should have thought to write to them sooner. Luke Gygax was very apologetic, but they are growing faster than they anticipated, from what I gather, so vendor space isn't meeting demand.

On the plus side I'm still planning to be at Fire & Ice Feb, 24th-26th, and as soon as I hear back I will probably confirm that I'm trekking back down to Iowa City for GamiCon Feb. 10th-12th.

Awwwww.... I was really looking forward to meeting you at Gary Con. You can still stop by and get some gamin' on, of course! Got both MutFut and Timemaster scheduled already!

We'll see, I still may go even without a booth...GaryCon would be a blast regardless, I'm sure.

Just reminder that Gamicon is coming up in two weeks and I'll be there (see above). Drop on by if you are in the area! If you plan to come be sure to call (don't book online, prices are not as good) the Iowa House Hotel and ask for Gamicon rates. Last I checked they were pretty cheap.
