Dieter - Mage

The boat is magic... we need to understand it before we push off to far from the beach with it.

Dieter will make his way back to the boat. He will inspect the ruins deeply.

Grimes points at the sail and says "maybe the runes have something to do with wind? Not much use for a sail in an underground river, I'd think." Grimes shrugs and says "sorry, that's all I can think of."

Dieter inspects the runes, but can't make head nor tail of them.

Castinus (autopilot) lends his head to the matter read languages [1d100] = 52 and says, with confidence, "This is an ancient tongue for sure, but those words say, STOP, GO, and something else that is crossed out. Perhaps, SHRIMP but I can't say for sure."

Acquaire unbeaches the boat and says GO! and the boat does so, the sail puffing open as if blown by wind, though none is felt. She guides it by the third oar and then says STOP! and the boat stops. With another GO and then STOP, she guides the boat to the shore once more. It seems unaffected by the current, she says.

The party boards the scow and with a GO the small craft moves. Using the sculling oar, Acquaire directs it down the fast flowing syne and the walls close in from the huge expanse of the lake cavern. The small craft moves quickly.

Question: Is there an area we could beach the craft next to the bridge? Perhaps we steer the craft to the edge of the bridge and "STOP" it, and we can leave if for our hopeful return.
