Einar has sinced extinguished his own torch and relies on the illumination provided by the remainder of the group. With the cowl of his cloak drawn over his head, and with sword in hand, he follows Grimes in the search for the troglodytes. "Oh good, the torch-bearer left some bait".

You're about halfway down the hall when, from an alcove, you see one of the ugly visage of a troglodyte (you know they are around, courtesy Einar, and thus no surprise roll). He notices that you spot him and attacks while yelling loudly!

INITIATIVE baddies [1d6] = 1 party [1d6] = 3

Party has initiative!

OOC: According to LL "All demi-humans and humans that come near a troglodyte are required to make a saving throw versus poison, or suffer –2 to attack rolls due to the disgusting, horrid stench." Feel free to try your own saves on Unseenservant.com (game ID 108) or you can let me roll for you. Oh, and declare action, of course. :)

Maybe it's just the troglodyte, maybe its the troglodyte and torch-bearers vomit, whatever it is Einar can no longer fight off the effects of the stench and provides the floor an acid wash. He attempts to loose an arrow at the smelly beast.

Save vs stench (Poison)! [1d20] = 7

Castinus lets off an arrow with his bow of doubling, trying like hell not to barf on the floor.

OC: Arrow deducted. I'll trust you to roll my save for me.

Troglodytes!

Party has initiative!

Einar looses an arrow (failed save, attack at -2) Attack [1d20-1] = 17-1 = 16 HIT DMG [1d6] = 6. The arrow hits and the Trog is hurt!

Dieter Saving throw [1d20] = 18 covers his nose and chucks a dart Attack [1d20+1] = 13+1 = 14 scoring a hit. Dieter dart damage [1d4] = 4. The Trog howls in pain!

Castinus Saving throw [1d20] = 15 holds back his vomit and lets off an arrow Castinus bow of doubling [1d20+3] = 9+3 = 12, [1d20+3] = 12+3 = 15, [1d6] = 5, [1d6] = 3 making short work of the Trog. It dies.

However, as it expires, three of its mates come round the corner and down the hall.

Grimes Saving throw [1d20] = 9 starts to hurls as he swings his sword Furuk attack Sword +1 [1d20+1] = 17+1 = 18, dmg [1d8+3] = 2+3 = 5 and he still manages to slice one Trog through.

Furuk (autopilot) Saving throw [1d20] = 9 also loses it as he attacks a second Furuk attack Sword +1 [1d20+1] = 16+1 = 17, dmg [1d8+3] = 6+3 = 9 and he slices him from neck to crotch, killing him as well.

Dandy hasn't a shot from where he is.

(secret morale roll) The fourth Trog, seeing his comrades killed so efficiently, turns tail and flees to a door at the end of the hall, which he begins to bang on. It opens for him.

You discover that dead troglodytes smell even worse.

Einar pulls his arrow from the fallen troglodyte as he advances upon the door, "Quickly! Press the attack before they can prepare for us!" The thief makes sure to slow his pace so another of his comrades can lead the charge.
