"That be some nice work, Diets," Dandy says. He follows to the cave.

"Wow," Castinus mouths to himself. He turns his horse, then spurs him once again toward the cave entrance.

Dieter - Mage

Let's not assume it's dead yet! Those things are pretty smart, might be playing possum.

Grimes - Fighter

Grimes, though invisible, shouts. "Awww, crap. Hey! Nice work Deets!" He'll fly at full speed to the flank of the beast to administer a deep stab with Wave, just for good measure. He'll also pause to harvest some claws.

Dieter - Mage

Hearing Grimes Dieter will engage True Seeing so he can see him. If it's truly dead grab me a tooth if you can!

Grimes - Fighter

OOC: Grimes will use his sword to secure some claws and teeth, extracting as many as he can in 10-15 minutes time assuming no signs of trouble.

Grimes dives into the mist below, watched by Dieter who uses his mechanical eye. Soon there is a poof of mist and then Grimes lands on the snowy lane. He has two teeth (fangs) and three claws on him.

The party makes their way to the cave entrance. You and your horses are breathing heavily from the chase, and sweat covers you. You almost don't notice that it is much warmer here. Not hot, just warmer, as if the cold from the frozen sun hasn't reached here somehow.

You look about the cavern after passing through the entrance that seems like a fanged maw: almost like passing through into Skull Mountain, the adventure that first started many of you.

The top is jagged and there are rising, cones of stone below. The cavern is 40' wide, 70' long, and over 20' high in the central area. It has obviously been used much in the past. The walls and ceiling are blackened by soot, and there are bits of broken furniture and discarded gear scattered around. At the back of the place is a smaller cave 20' wide, 30' long, and 15' high. At the northernmost end of the cave is a 10' wide passage slanting steeply down. Steps have been roughly hewn in its floor to allow easier passage. The tunnel leads down into the heart of the mountain. It is about 130' long and has some 60 broad stairs, each with a drop of 1'. At the end of the passage is the entrance to the lost caverns--where the real adventure begins.

To be continued ...
