Jarek - thief

Jarek nods at Tret and gets an arrow ready, just in case. He follows the couple, but keeps an eye on the rest of the party. If the goblins engage them in combat he will fire at the nearest enemy.

Somewhere, a needle scratches across a record on a turntable. The two humans turn and regard you with raised eyebrows, while the goblins stop and exchange glances. "Not this again," one of them says. "Yeah," says another, "and all the cave entrances are trapped. Ooooohhh!" he adds, wiggling his fingers in the air, all spooky-like. ;)

Day 8, Nytdain, Thaumont 8th, Dymrak Forest, Sukiskyn Homestead, Combat Round 4

The gate buckles as the pursuing goblins pound against it: some with their fists, some with the butt ends of their spears. Up above, the gatehouse bursts into flame. The woman looks up, then at the man next to her. She steels her face, and then, grabbing his hand, sprints across the yard toward the main building. Tret, Biz, and Soldath follow close behind, lest they lose their way through the smoke.

The red-clad goblins holler out a war-cry, then charge the rest of you. The first two swing their swords at Marion and Renardius, but both miss.

Jarek makes a run for the building, but stops in the doorway to fire one last arrow. He hits the goblin attacking Marion, right between the eyes.

Another goblin comes forward and swings into Athelstan, but his sword bounces harmlessly off the fighter's chain mail.

Renardius, surrounded and with no time to cast a spell, lunges at the nearest goblin with Smiter. He misses.

Athelstan slices his attacker in two. Black blood flies everywhere.

Igli heads for the doorway, cutting down a third goblin with his axe as he runs.

Marion follows the dwarf. With one thrust of her spear, a fourth goblin is dead. Removing her spear, she struggles to untangle the entrails.

The last goblin bears his teeth and charges at you with his sword held high. An arrow fired from a second story window stops his charge.

All the goblins in the courtyard are dead. Combat is over. You hear a rending noise, followed by the cracking of timbers as the top of the barn collapses, sending sparks into the night sky. The rest of you hurry inside, and the door closes behind you.

The adventure continues in Chapter 2: The Siege at Sukiskyn.
