I ended up going Dwarf Cleric - so working on my character now. The stats are better for this character than the Monk, so I'll give Monk a shot some other time. (and I didn't want the slower experience progression with a multi-class)

Spellbook question:
How many spells can we have in our books? I picked the three spells Maeglin most likely will have memorized (mostly for dealing with the gaming table), but his spellbook can and should hold more. Also, scrolls, wands, etc?

Maeglin's character concept is Doc Holliday, particularily as played by Val Kilmer in Tombstone. Skilled Poker player, ungodly fast, dying. He would research or buy spells that would allow him to manipulate the situation more than just blast away.

I got a question via PM about XP and prime requisites. At this point, your XP already has the bonus (from all those games we played before, remember?) so don't add that 5% or what-have-you.

To answer Surfing's question -- have twice your level spells in your spellbook, so a 4th level magic-user will have 4 1st and 4 2nd level spells in his book. Plus one spell of the next level.

And I got that characterization from your character sheet. I loved Kilmer's rendition of Doc Holliday so I think that could be awesome.

I'm almost done getting the magic items together. Trying to strike balance is tough but fun.

If it's just the same to you Anadrea would rather not have the 328 gp. She kind of has the Ranger view on money and gives it away to various causes. She has 20pp she keeps on her for emerencies and she lives off the land
