The battle gets underway

1. Missles 2. Spellls 3. Melee

The two dull grey blobs ooze and undulate on the stone floor amidst the party

Immalor backs up a few steps towards the secret door you entered through, crouchs down and shoots an arrow from his shortbow, atk roll 10(+2 dex)=12 hits! for 2 dmg to ooze #1. The arrow sticks into the glob.

Zavenorrin backs up a slight bit and makes hand gestures while speaking in arcane tongues, casts sleep - which seems to have no effect on these dungeon dwellers

Bafa holds his action for now.
Leon hacks at the nearest ooze (#1), atk rolls 4, 11. The long sword hits for 5 damage, slicing into the ooze. The long sword however comes out slick with a slimy residue dripping from the blade. The blade begins to liquify
Turin lunges at ooze#2 with his blazing torch. Atk roll 5 misses
Egbert is still back in the last room

The grey oozes lash out at you with snakelike appendages.
#1 atk roll vs Leon =2 miss
#2 atk roll vs Turin = 15 hits! The appendage strikes you for 9 dmg knocking you back a foot. A portion of the ooze is now affixed to your torso eating away at your metal armour.

Thats the end of round 1. Next I will roll round 2 initiative. What are your round 2 actions? (and what does Balfa wish to do since he wasn't directly attacked?)

Zavenorrin curses between his teeth when he sees his spell had no effect. "We will only lose our weapons fighting these creatures! Fall back! Fall back!" He then goes on putting his own words into practice, while at the same time getting hold of his bow and an arrow.

Leon, muttering obscenities, thrusts his ruined sword at the ooze again, leaving it inside the creature if he successfully hits - under no circumstance does he risk his magic dagger against the creature.

Cursing, Balfa throws his shield away, sheats his scimitar and falls back. He will attempt to light one of his torches and using it against the blobs.

OOC: I'll assume Immalor stays near the doorway and shoots another arrow. I will roll out round 2 shortly

Initiative rolls round 2, monsters 2, party 4. The party wins round 2 init and will be first to act.

The dull grey oozes undulate grossly to your horror in the glowing torchlight beneath the earth..

1. Missles 2. Spells 3. Melee

Immalor stands guarding the exit door and gets off another arrow at ooze1, rolls 14 hits! for 1 dmg
Balfa spends the round pulling a torch from his pack and moving to Turin,(who is covered in ooze) and lights his torch off Turin's
Turin tries to burn the ooze that is partially covering him, atk roll 20 hits!, the torch singes as if a cigar is being snuffed out in pudding, and is now mostly extinguished. It did not appear to harm the ooze.
Leon jabs back at ooze1 with his melting sword, atk roll 15 hits! for 2/1 = 1 dmg. The sword in this condition did half damage and is now liquified. A silver patch on the dull gray undulating mass.
Zavenorrin shouts to the group and falls the rest of the way back to the exit door, now standing shoulder to shoulder with the other Elf he unslings his bow and begins notching an arrow

The dull gray oozes mindlessly fight back
Ooze1 lashes out with another formed snakelike appendage at Leon, atk roll 2 misses badly. The appendage falls far short and begins to suck back into the main mass
Ooze2, Turin feels an acidic burn as his plate mail armour is melted and droops to the floor. He takes no further damage and the creauture is off him for now, but he stands in his under garments

"Run for it, all!" shouts Zavenorrin again. He makes one step aside to leave the door opening free for his party mates to flee, while shooting at the nearest creature.

Leon carefully withdraws as quickly as possible, keeping his eyes on the oozes at all times until he reaches the exit.
