The movie Heavy Metal would be a great part of a Mutant Future game. The episodes of "Den" and " Taarna". Full of good stuff. The movie is from 1981 so some of you youngsters might have to hunt it down.

I think some others have mentioned this already. (Malcadon & Dyson?)

I take ideas from that movie all the time. Works great in regular LL as well.

I've considered running a Heavy Metal con game. Four hours, and each hour is spent playing in a one-hour "micro-adventure vignette". First, introduce the Loc-Nar as the common threat to all of the scenarios.

Hour one: Harry Canyon - "Blade-Runner-esque," futuristic urban blight, film-noir game. (Sci-fi)

Hour two: Den - Primitive barbarian world fighting against evil magicians. (Fantasy)

Hour three: B-17 - WWII fighter goes down in a zombie-infested jungle. (Horror)

And, of course, final hour would be Taarna. (No explanation needed.)

Hmmmmm....might be time for another Mutant Future game. ;)

Im thinking about stats for a Taarakian for a PC. Maybe a Pure Human with a +3 STR modifier, or a +3 Hit rolls. They are suppose to be highly skilled warrior race.
Not a lot of armor. Force weapons ? There were several decapitations by sword. A flying bird mount.

Further ideas can come from the 30 minute show, Metal Hurlant which is now on SyFy and is based on stories from the French magazine that was the inspiration for Heavy Metal magazine and has nods to this movie here and there.

I actually wrote a full set of articles on what the movie says about the campaign setting.

Heavy Metal Mutant Future Part 1
Heavy Metal Mutant Future Part 2
Heavy Metal Mutant Future Part 3
Heavy Metal Mutant Future Part 4

Cool! :D

*pulls out personal copy on DVD* ;)

...and added all that on the MF Wiki.

I also added DEN's stats from that character contest a few years back. It is less about the movie character, and more of a mishmash of the various canons, which is fine, as Richard Corben couldn't keep the story straight.
