Day 11, Lunadain, Thaumont 11th, Sukiskyn Homestead, 9 a.m.
The day dawns a little cloudy, warm, with a gentle breeze. After a quick breakfast, and a few words of thanks and encouragement from Pyotr, you pack your bags, saddle up your horses, and prepare to search the homesteads and lumber camps north of Sukiskyn.
Since the paths between the settlements are well traveled, Gregor can give you an idea of the times and distances involved in visiting them.
The first homestead, Hokol, is 9 miles from Sukiskyn, and will take you 3 1/2 hours to reach.
From Hokol, it's another 9 miles to either the Ilyakana lumber camp or the Cherkass homestead. Travel time is likewise 3 1/2 hours.
From Ilyakana, it's 6 miles, or 2 1/2 hours, to the Sielo lumber camp.
From the Cherkass homestead it's 15 miles, or 5 1/2 hours, to the Sielo lumber camp.
These, of course, are simply suggestions. There's a big map, and you can go anywhere.
"So, lads," Gregor says, trying to inject some cheer into the morning. "Where to first?"
