The party backs out of the room. The snake keeps his eyes on them, tongue flicking out, trying to decide its next move.

It seems you are leaving. That is too bad, I prefer when lunch is brought to me. Perhaps later then.

The snake leaves you be as you move into the hall. You can likely safely leave it there.

Actions?

Thurwin - Wizard

Thurwin exhales a loud sigh of relief. "Whew. That could have ended much worse. Nice work yet again, Effric." Thurwin motions toward the room with the brigands and says "Shall we try the stairs, gentlemen?"

OOC: Perhaps we cautiously scout the stairs down, and assuming it's safe and trap-free, we proceed?

Father Redmond - Cleric

"Yes I think that going downstairs is the way to go. Should we throw a lit torch before going down? That would light up our way but would also give us away."

"How much oil have we left? This house is not small; we might want to keep some or get some new supply..." inquires Calthas.

There are two sets of stairs down: the secret staircase and the not-so secret one.

(The big honkin' pink arrows point out the stairs down.)

Which set of stairs?

Question: Do either set of stairs seem to have recent traffic on them? Do we see light down the stairs or hear noise?

Neither seems well trafficked. The secret door was certainly unfound by the bandits in that room. The other stairs don't have footprints leading to them, at least not humanoid ones. Rats or some other vermin, maybe. You can hear scratching down that one as well.

Let's give the passage the bandits unearthed a try.
