Castinus furrows his brow in concentration. "Hang on," he cautions. He then looks for signs of gas holes, hidden darts, spring-loaded boxing gloves, etc. He'll also pay particular attention to the strange face on the lintel. Should he determine why the doors aren't quite right, he'll attempt to disarm or remove the trap.

"Everybody back up!" Castinus warns. "These doors are fake," he explains. "Watch." The thief takes out a length of rope and ties it to one of the rings serving as door handles. Once everyone, including himself, is safely out of the way and out of the tunnel, he'll give the rope a tug.

The rope tugs on the door ring. In an instant the roar of falling stones fills your ears as the ceiling caves in. When the dust settles it is obvious, even in the harsh light of Dieter's staff, that the stones would have crushed you.

Dieter - Mage

Arching an eyebrow while waving the dust away from his face: Gads, Castinus, that could have laid us all out. Do we need to look for a different entry?

Grimes - Fighter

Grimes exhales loudly as the dust from the collapse settles. "WHEW... that wasn't very nice. Good work, Casty. Yeah, maybe another entrance. Hey, we got any more buffalo?"

Dandy, Dwarf Cleric

"I be havin' a bad feelin' about this place! Let's try one o' the other ways in," Dandy says.

There are two other ways in that you've found. As a reminder:

greyarea wrote:The party searches. The sky grows redder as the sun dips. Then three things happen, nearly simultaneously:

Dandy, searching the perimeter, finds what could be an entrance, although it will take a bit to open it up. It would require the movement of a large boulder: doable but will take effort.

Dieter hunts almost randomly. His new staff prods the sod. Midway up the hill, his staff suddenly slides in nearly taking the mage with it. The dry, matted grasses and underbrush would take some time to clear, but it could very well be an entrance.

It's now quite dark. The sun is set and the moon not yet risen. Dieter's staff casts light but nothing else does. It shouldn't be too hard finding the other entrances but clearing them at night might be challenging, taking longer than you'd like

Actions?

Grimes - Fighter

Grimes shrugs and says "We could call it a day and move out in the morning rested and ready, eh?

Castinus glances around at the swamp surrounding them. "Do we dare chance a fire?" he asks? "We just popped in here out of nowhere. We don't know what's around here."

OC: What is around here? Is it just swamp for as far as the eye can see?

Grimes - Fighter

Grimes throws a dismissive wave of the hand and says "Let's stoke a fire up, at this point I'll kill anyone who disturbs us. This place is makin' me testy." He grabs wave and says "While I've still got some daylight I'm gonna' check out that ugly mug on the hill."

Grimes will go examine the face on the hill, probing around it with Wave to see if one of the facial features conceals and entrance, he'll also poke the ground where he walks, wondering if another entrance exists.

OOC: That's all I've got. Nothing in the ol' brain box other than keep searching.
