Damage for a Chainsaw

Has anyone seen rules for a Chainsaw in Mutant Future?

Or in Gamma World for that matter?

I have been looking and have not found anything.

Non in MF, so much is sure. I gave it a thought after looking at vibro-dagger and vibro sword (the later comes with a rather devastating damage code of 1d8+16).

Are you and your players fine with throwing some dice? If so, I would advice 3d8 for a chainsaw or 2d8+4, if you want it to have a higher "base damage".

Thanks much!!!

I am just looking to add more '2016' types of weapons instead of so many lasers and such. What better to add then the chainsaw!

Better? A simple machete, if you ask me. Much easier to carry along, easier to be readied, easier to swing and it will maim and dismember just the same (minus splattering gore all about the place while making enough noise to attract the attention of any mutant in the bomb-damned block) ;) But yes, in regard to the damage code a machete (sword) simply is not fairing half as good.

If you don´t mind unwieldy weapons, consider the following tool. It was built to cut hedges, but if it runs on a battery (energy cell) or on an internal combustion engine, it might be used as a spear or pike.

..so, I always wondered what would happen if you hit something solid with a chainsaw. Like "the concrete" or "a metal bar". If the chains rips appart while running ...well... I would not pick up a chainsaw as weapon.... :)

Ash in the Evil Dead used a chain saw... Ash >> all.

Seriously, a great listing of modern weapons for MF would be fantastic if you know of any.

Might as well add double barrel shotgun.

How about chainsaw nunchucks?

I statted it as a 7d6 weapon. And for extra giggles, here's an NPC who's quite adapt in their use!

Well don't mind if I do! I'm running a Mutant Future game on Roll20 soon. The chainsaw nunchucks are most definitely going to make an appearance!
