Day 14, Moldain, Thaumont 14th, Viper goblin (Jaggadash) lair, midnight, Turn 1
You reel at the stench of goblin as your eyes adjust to the light of Soldath's staff. The passage is no more than five feet high, and your backs protest as you hunch your shoulders.
The goblins immediately trip over something on the floor. "Aargh!" one screams. Looking down, you see a snake!
Oh wait, it's a wooden carving of a snake. Brightly painted. You get the impression that at one time it hung outside on the wooden door.
"You idiot!" the other one hollers, slapping his companion across the face. "STOP MAKING SO MUCH NOISE!"
With renewed effort to be a little quieter, you continue, twisting your way through the passage. The floor is dry, though littered with refuse. You hear no sounds other than your own footsteps.
After the obligatory ten minutes, you find that you're still in a corridor, and that it continues.
