Sacrifice!!!! round 2

INITIATIVE baddies d6, 1, Party d6, 6 PARTY HAS INITIATIVE

Dieter throws a dart at DC (d20, 15, HIT, dmg d4, 4) and pops the bugger in a sensitive spot with his dart.

Dandy (autopilot) throws his hammer at HP (d20, 16, HIT, dmg d8+2x2, 7+2x2=18) hitting him with a crushing blow. The hammer flies back to Dandy's hand. The red robed priest's blood clouds the black water at his feet.

Einar (autopilot) targets the DC with his bow (d20, 14, MISS) but his shot misses the mark.

Grimes targets DA2 (d20, 20, CRITICAL HIT, MAX DAMAGE and LIMB LOSS) and his head flies one way while his body tumbles off the stair the other way.

Furuk bounds down the terrace after the DC (DEX check, d20, 4, SUCCESS) and lands in front of his foe, slashing with his sword (d20, 17, HIT, dmg 4d6+3, 13+3=16). The DC cries out as he is killed.

Clarence grabs Greenstar, who is still drugged and not particularly responsive and tries to yank her upstairs. She appears confused but follows him.

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

HP casts Hold Person on those on the stairs (number affected, d4, 2) attacking Clarence and Grimes with his spell. Clarence (Save vs Spells, d20, 18, SUCCESS) and Grimes (Save vs Spells, d20, 14, SUCCESS) both feel a brief tightening of their muscles but stave off the effects of the spell.

DA1 swings at Clarence with his spiked club (d20, 3, MISS) but the blow misses.

D4 runs down the stairs of the terrace to engage Furuk (d20, 3, MISS) but cannot connect.

D3 leaps down the terrace like Furuk did (save vs Petrify, d20, 18, FAIL) but stumbles and falls on the lower level floor. D2 tries the same maneuver (save vs Petrify, d20, 18, FAIL) with the same result.

D1 runs around and up to engage Einar (d20, 3, MISS) but cannot connect either.

L1 does the same, meeting Einar as well (d20, 7, MISS) but also cannot connect. L4 tries with Dandy (d20, 9, MISS) with the same result.

L2 and L3 also run around the terrace to try to engage but the pillars slow their movements.

The black (and reddish black, at that, with HPs blood) roils more. Grimes can only hope it's a big fish.

The AVATAR Rises!!!

INITIATIVE baddies d6, 4, party d6, 6 Party has initiative

Dieter lobs a dart at L1 (d20, 15, HIT, dmg d4, 4) and the dart jabs him.

Grimes swings at DA1 (d20, 17, HIT, d6+1, 3+1=4) wounding him.

Furuk swings at D4 (d20, 9, HIT, d4+3, 16+3=19) killing him.

Einar (autopilot) pulls up his hood, disappearing, and moving to an undisclosed location.

Dandy (autopilot) swings his hammer at L4 (d20, 15, HIT, d8+4, 7+4=11) killing him.

Clarence swings at DA1 (d20, 16, HIT, dmg d8+3, 7+3=10) nearly killing him.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

HP casts cure light wounds on himself (d4+1, 1+1=2).

DA1 swings at Clarence (d20, 17, HIT, dmg d4+2, 1+2=3) wounding him.

Their prey having disappeared into thin air, D1 and L2 attack Grimes on the stairs. D1 swings (d20, 19, HIT, dmg d6+3, 3+3=6) and hits Grimes. L2 jumps down the terrace to meet Grimes (save vs Petrify, d20, 18, FAIL) but stumbles as he does so and falls on his face.

L1 attacks Dieter (d20, 9, MISS) but cannot connect.

L3 and L4 attack Dandy (d20, 9, MISS, d20, 8, MISS) but both miss.

D2, and D3 attack Furuk (d20x2, 3, 1, MISS, CRITICAL MISS) one missing and one critically missing and wounding himself ([i]dmg, 1+3=4).

Suddenly, a set of jaws breech the water and HP disappears into the maw of an Ancient Black Dragon. With a swallow, the darkling priest is gone!!!

With what you swear is a smile the dragon looks across the scene and licks his chops, he says in a booming voice, in Common, I am Razemeth the Avatar, and you... you are lunch. He then rises out of the water and looks around to find a target.

Grimes - Little Snack

Grimes, thankfully immune from fear due to his shield, keeps his trousers clean. Seeking a moment to regroup, he'll start to retreat up the stairs to the next level, grabbing his potion of Super Heroism as he makes his way up. He intends to chug it as soon as he can.

Question: Grimes -2 AC against attacks from larger than man sized creatures would apply here, right? He can sure use it.

OOC: Grimes plan is to chug the potion, then see where the dragon is and formulate his next course of action.
