Immalor prepares to destroy the statue by knocking it over if any sign of movement appears when the panel is moved.

He offers his battle axe to Leon. "Leon, before you slide that, maybe you can use my axe haft to slide it from a distance, and not infront of it?."

Leon uses the axe haft and slides plaque (A) which reads "Read this & weep..." to the side

A recessed cavity can be seen behind the plaque. In it is a human skull. Suddenly it's eye sockets burn an orange-red hellfire. Leon instinctively jumps off further to the side as it blows up!

DEX check at +4 penalty, rolls a 12 (+4) = 16, needs to roll under his DEX which is 14, takes 1d12 dmg, rolls an 11 (ouch).

The skull explodes into 1000 tiny bone fragments, as Leon dives out of the way, but is hit with some

Turing uses a healing spell on Leon (CLW deducted from today's spells) and suggests someone check behind the skull to see what it was guarding.

Still on the floor, Leon sits up slowly, letting somebody else peek around up there as Turin casts his spell. To the cleric, he bows his head for a moment and says, "My thanks."

Seeing that Leon is in good hands, Zavenorrin goes near Immalor to add his elvish insight to his kin's, and study the cavity where the skull stood.

A thorough search is conducted of the recessed cavity that was behind the plaque reading "Read this and weep..."

Nothing is found in the cavity, including any further secret compartments. The Elves do, however, notice the writing on this plaque has a faint glow to it, and they suspect it may somehow be arcane in nature

Turin casts CLW on Leon, and he is healed for 6 hit points

Zavenorrin turns to the other plaque with renewed attention, checking if the writing exhibits the same glow as the first one.

Zavenorrin inspects the inscription on the right hand plaque (B) which says, "Here lies F'Chelrak....the gates of death are not locked for him."
It does not appear to have the same faint arcane glow to the inscription. It is, however also on a slide mechanism if you care to open that one?

With a firm, clear voice, Zavenorrin warns: "Stay clear of the plaque!" Then, once everybody has made room, he steps on the side of the plaque so that he would not face it, and actions it to make it slide.
