Joffrey - Old Knight

Joffrey naturally gravitates to the head of the little column. He keeps a careful watch all around. He has got this far in life being set upon unwary by bounders and cads at every turn!

" We haven't had a good look yet - shall we continue upriver a ways?"

Zelaz takes position in the middle of the group. Up river sounds good. I am no ranger, and cannot track for the life of me.

Taranna

Go back to what? I'd rather hunt around here for a couple of days. She will say with a smile.

Roikos: Cleric
Agrees with the party, "Camp has people to protect it, but these missing folks do not."

He studies intensely at the mud and foliage looking for clues for a direction the party may have gone.

You turn your mounts, then follow the river north. As the afternoon advances, you come upon the remains of some of Pramayama's outlying farms. Corpses of cattle and goats stare up at you as you pass, their blank eyes coated with dust. Between their protruding ribs and the rocky soil, you get the impression that even during peaceful times life here is one of want and misery.

For several hours the scene repeats itself, and the farms and settlements run together in your minds. Carrion birds flap their wings and fight among themselves for scraps of meat, but otherwise there is no sign of movement, no hint of life. As the sun begins to set--in the west, not the south--you realize that you'd better turn around if you wish to return to the village by nightfall.

Suddenly, up ahead, you notice movement among a group of boulders. Several creatures, canine from the look of them, are feeding on remains. Human, remains. They look up as you approach, snarling.

Actions?

Tasrem is a bit put off by the scenery. "The sight is not as appealing as I would have expected. Maybe we should setup a camp, and continue our investigation tomorrow?" he proposes.

Zelaz yells, Away, foul creatures. Those are not for you! trying to intimidate them (CHA 15).

Those might be our friends those dog-things are eating... he says hushedly before yelling, Go on, scram!

Aristide - Thief

Aristide makes a disgusted expression and draws his bow. He says quietly to his trusty mount "steady, old fella... steady..." And if the things don't leave as we try to shoo them away, he'll take a shot at the closest one.

Drawing her bow also she will follow Aristide's lead. I doubt there will be anything to investigate in the morning....

ROIKOS: Cleric
The Cleric is angered by what he sees. He whispers a quiet prayer... for the dead, and himself. Raising his voice to his companions,
"Fire into my melee with them - if it comes to that - I trust you." as he quickens his approach to the carnage, drawing his flail.

OOC: Roikos doesn't spur the mount into a run as much as he just quickens the pace of the approach, a trot perhaps; however, if they are wild dogs, and less than 10 in number, then he will put the mount into a full on charge - especially if they're standing their ground.
