Greetings!

I am glad we have had a great Goblinoid Games forum before- and hope this one will be even better!! Ive seen several other game forums that were not moderated enough and rudeness, flaming, threadjacking and other nonsense has gone crazy!! I rarely visit or post there any more. I havent seen any of that on the old forum & hope I never see it here.
Lets keep this new forum great!

I agree, we are pretty cool!

But - I'm behind Blood Axe 100%. When I was trying to convince my friends to do our play-by-post game here, that's the ONE thing they were skeptical about - flamers & retard threadjackers. In our Thief Gate campaign, we've never had a problem.

I know there is some degree of moderation, because they were pretty on top of spam-posters! I only recall seeing one get through - I reported it and it was gone the same day.

After having been moderator/admin on the old forum for a couple of years, I was amazed at how well behaved the members are, especially when compared with the goings on elsewhere. It seems incredibly ironic to me that the Basic game seems to attract a more mature crowd. I've only ever had to speak (in pm's) to conflicting members on 3 occasions and each time the parties involved quickly "shook hands" and moved on. This forum has certainly been a haven from the negativity that mars much of the online gaming scene.

As for spammers, that has been a constant onslaught, with Chinese spammers joining daily - sometimes up to 4 times a day! Dan's policy of members having to post five times before being able to post links has proved a wonderful defence against these parasites.

I was actually wondering how many people from the old forum found this one. I'm kind of annoyed Dan wasn't able to get a backup of the old one, that's bush-league nonsense. Hopefully the older posts will still be accessible for a long time.

Me too, especially since TLG had their forums with the same host and somehow managed to get a backup for their new forums. I, on the other hand, got stonewalled. So I figured I should move the forums ASAP because the sooner they moved, the less we would have to leave behind sometime in the future when the forums would inevitably need to move anyway.
