Day 16, Loshdain, Thaumont 16th, deep within the Stone Wood, surprise combat roundAthelstan, Soldath and Renardius dismount, the latter two preparing their spells. Blood Axe, I'm assuming Harn will dismount as well.
Tret, remaining atop his mount, launches an arrow into one of the approaching goblins (G8). It sails through the air...
Thunk! The goblin staggers back in shock. He looks down at the arrow protruding from his shoulder, curses, draws an axe from his belt, and shows you
his war face. He and the rest of his companions start howling and charging, along with the wolves.
Day 16, Loshdain, Thaumont 16th, deep within the Stone Wood, combat round 1The goblins close the distance between the two of you. Most just brandish their weapons and curse at you, but a few manage to do you harm.
Soldath casts a continual light spell into an oncoming wolf and its rider (1-1). The beast's eyes flash with a fiery glow, then its howl quickly turns to whimpering as it stumbles around blindly. Its rider, however, manages to maintain control of the beast.
Two goblins (G6 & G7) gang up on tret, throwing spears. One hits the thief in the leg
(2 hp dmg), but the other misses.
Tret fires an arrow in retaliation, hitting G7
(1 hp dmg).
G4 hurls a spear at Athelstan, the blade dinging him in the helmet
(1 hp dmg). The warrior howls in range, but stands his ground.
Renardius casts his bless spell on the party. You'll all be at +1 to hit and damage rolls for the rest of the battle.
Harn, feeling blessed, throws a hammer at an approaching wolf, but misses.
Two goblins are wounded, one wolf blinded.
Actions? Don't forget to deduct any spells are missile weapons used.
