Monks and turning

Looking at the AEC, it says "Monks are a subclass of clerics; [snip]. They do not learn or cast spells." but does not mention turning.
Is there an "official" view on whether monks can turn undead as per clerics?
Thanks.

Offhand, I would say no. Druids are a subclass of cleric and they don't turn undead.

Agreed, although it does explicitly say that druids "have no power over undead." I think a monk with turning abilities would be an interesting variant. Less of a shaolin kung-fu monk and more of a medieval Benedictine type of monk, perhaps.

Thanks for the replies.

In the end, I house-ruled it that monks have the same turning abilities as clerics. (Handy for that particular party, who for various reasons, don't have a cleric....)
